Question about LG Televison & Video
My LG HT805VM stopped reading DVDs It can still read everything else (VCDs, CDs....) I read somewhere that the Prom code could be off I accessed the place where I can see/change the code (by pressing Pause and 1 4 7 2 on the LG "bootup" screen) Right now it's: f7 00 45 b4 00 00 80 00 bb 00 Does anybody know the correct one for this model?
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I had a problem w/my dmrez475 and called pan @ 1-800-211-7262 and talked to John at ext 5070.
He seemed very knowledgeable and sent me an update CD. The CD fixed my problem which was in
the timer recording mode. Call him, maybe he can help.

I had the inverse problem on my unit - 7 months after I bought it brand new it wouldn't read DVD's, but would read CD's no problem -- I bought a replacement loader from LG, swopped them out myself and now works 100%.
Turned out the laser for reading DVD's had gone - they use different lasers or wavelengths or something... :)

This is not a problem that a reset will resolve. If you can gain access to the lens, try cleaning the lens using a cotton swab and alcohol. If that does not resolve the problem, the spindle motor may be defective. This is the motor that turns the disc. Once a disc is recognized as being loaded, the disc is spun up. If it does not get to speed fast enough, it will fail to read.
The bottom line is that without seeing the unit, I can not state exactly which scenerio you have here.
If the cleaning does not resolve the problem, I would suggest you request a detailed estimate from an authorized Sony service center.

Go into the menu, select the lock icon and press '0' on the remote 7 times, then enter the region you want ie, press 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2 etc... You can press '0'
