I just realized my problem... the little thing to put the bobbin on to refill it wasn't quite all the way back to the left. I can't believe it! I'm so glad that I figured out what it was though. Hopefully this information will help someone else!
Check to see if bobbin casing has moved out of original position
Check if needle is not bent or blunt
Check and see if there is not something underneath the bobbin casing. could be little dust ball.

I am having the same "safety device" problem. I've checked the bobbin casing, removed a bit of lint under the bobbin casing and the machine still won't reset or run. The hand wheel is hard to turn, but the machine is clean and oiled. Any suggestions?
I have a CE-200 and am getting the same "Safety Device is Activated" error message when I try to start embroidering. When I push the button to start embroidering, I can hear something turning in the machine and then it stops and the error message pops up on the computer. I cleaned out under the bobbin case very well and oiled it. I don't see anything stuck in there at all. When I turn the wheel, it turns freely without any resistance. The needle and embroidery foot look fine. The hoop looks fine. The manual says that thread could be "tangled up with the hook". What/where is "the hook" so I can check on that?
I just sewed with this machine yesterday and it worked fine, now trying to embroider with it today is just not working. Thank you to anyone who has any advice!
