Question about Max-Fridge Refrigerators

1 Answer

Lg fridge Model GC-p197WFS

Our fridge is a 2009. It's just started to trip the earth leakage circuit on the house. Had an electrician here and when the coil heater etc is disconnected its fine. Not knowing the affects the fridge remains unplugged. 12 months ago we were called from LG with a recall issue but our serial number was just out. ( S/N 902TRSE00134). Some advise would be much appreciated. Getting someone here that knows fridges is not that easy.

SOURCE: suddenly tripped off house

Hi akula, 200 ks to a fridgie, LG appliance, you must be in Australia;) Is it the earth leakage circuit breaker operating. If so, then you have a leakage problem to earth from the heater pad(not quite sure what that is, but this problem will need to be repaired. Am doing some research to see if there is anything that can be done without just getting a new fridge. Back to you soon.

Graeme

Tripping an earth leakage would indicate a break down of insulation in the windings of the compressor, the possibility of a short circuit in the wiring system or the defrost element down to earth. I recommend you have a certified technician check it out before you have a fire. If the Hoover is in good condition there is no reason not to replace it. Rate me please.

How do i fix my lg multi flow fridge/freezer that trips the earth leakage all the time

It may be possible the defrost heater is shorting to earth or ground. This would trip the GFI every time the refrigerator went into defrost. It also is possible that water has infiltrated the insulation and causing a leakage current. This would be much harder to fix.

Maytag GS2126PADW fridge trips safety switch (earth leakage detector) after about 30 minutes. It's not caused by defrost heater.

The house that you live in might be using ADCI instead of GFCI. The newer protection is ARC FAULT DETECTION CIRCUIT INTERRUPTION. It can sense a SPARK and shut down the circuit.

Why does my whirlpool dryer high limit thermostat keep tripping Ive tested the element and all other thermostats They all test fine Venting is clean I can't figure it out

Look at the wattage that the dryer uses, for example is it 2400W?
It may be that the circuit that it is connected to is fused for lower wattage, or, maybe your hot water heater or some other (silent but always drawing power) device is on the same circuit, which could be pulling 2400W as well, so together they are pulling too much current which leads to the tripping.
It is definitely tripping for a safety reason, so be sure to have a registered electrician make any alterations to fusing rather than doing it yourself. It may also be earth leakage causing this. An electrician can easily test for earth leakage.
They can also advise whether the cabling to the dryer powerpoint can safely operate on a higher fuse, or whether a dedicated fuse and circuit will be required solve the problem.

Have the inductive load circuits checked for unbalanced circuitry (ie short circuits). The earth leakage unit trips when the power in on the active is not equal to the power out on the neutral but is being drained off from a short . It may be necessary for you to connect the earth terminal on the front of the gen set to an earth prod in the ground to overcome this problem. Talk to an electrician for best advice

My fridge tripe the earth leakage everytime I switch on the fridge.

call ana accredited electrician to check the insulation of the wires and for vermin infestation that is across electrical connections
it could be a faulty capacitor or failed motor as the earth leakage breaker is also a fuse for excessive current draw

Fridge keeps tripping electricity

I assume by "earth leakage" you mean it is on a GFI circuit? Some older GFI outlets are sensitive to and do not work well with motors or other inductive loads like your refridgerator compressor. As for the compressor feeling hot, this is usually normal.

If this is a GFI outlet, try replacing it with new unit. If it is a GFI breaker, try replacing that.
