SOURCE: Waterboss water softner. E1

THis has happened to me a couple of times and i have fixed it by doing the following:

1. slide the electronic display unit off its base
2. spray a bit of WD 40 on the 2 gears right next to each other (they are gold and black on my unit)
3. spray a bit of WD40 on the large grey wheel on the other side of the 2 gears. The 2 gears are supposed to turn the grey wheel, which in turns pushes a little black plunger in with one of its three little prongs. Use a screw driver to make sure that the plunger is moving freely - push it in and out a few times and put a bit of WD40 on it.

The whole error code is about that large grey wheel not moving - it is the "magnetic disc" that the owner's manual refers to.

Finally, reposition the elwectronic display unit - make sure it is tightly secured in its original position, or it will not work.

Unplug the power to the display unit and then re-plug it back in. The unit should go through its cycle on its own then...assuming you don't have any damaged parts. Hope this helps!!!!

    Waterboss 93000 water softener

It most likely is due to a plugged eductor/injector assembly which pulls the salt brine out of the tank to regenerate softener. If it is plugged no brine will be pulled from salt tank during regen but it will keep filling the salt tank and eventually overflow with each cycle. Or there could be a leak in the valve causing the tank to overflow.
Here is the owners manual for your model.

    Waterboss 93000

Chances are if your water boss 93000 overflows after a regeneration cycle, the piston in the brine valve housing is sticking due to corrosion. The replacement part is over $40 so my suggestion is to remove the brine valve housing assembly, clean the end off of the piston are best you can, then lubricate it with lithium grease or spray, push the piston back and forth a few times with a screwdriver, and then reassemble. I would suggest lubricating the piston annually, and all you have to do to do that is remove the control panel temporarily and underneath it you can see the end of the piston that needs to be lubed.

My water softener is inoperative and is displaying ''E1'' in the status window.

    Hi,

Two possible ways to resolve this:

    1. (the easiest to try first) - Unplug the unit from the electrical supply for 20-30 minutes and then restore power. This may clear the error code.

    2. The error normally means that the motor has encountered some form of resistance - i.e. a blockage of debris in the piston seal inside the valave or possibly it could be due to a microswitch not activating correctly which could cause the piston to stop in an incorrect position. This would normally be a job for the service team; however if you are feeling that you want to tackle this yourself you could refer to the diagram in the user manual to disassemble the unit and investigate further. In all liklihood a clean may well fix the issue

If this helps, please leave feedback
