This cause noise ; God bless you

  • MagnetronIf your microwave is emanating high pitched or growling noises during operation, the magnetron could be going bad. Normally a nearly silent part, the magnetron uses high voltage and induces the frequency required to cook food. Although normally not a safety hazard to operate, this is a sign that the magnetron is failing and will need to be replaced as soon as possible.
  • Exhaust fan motorIf your microwave is making a very loud humming noise during operation, it could possibly be the exhaust fan motor. If defective the part will need to be replaced to silence the appliance once more.
  • Stirrer motorAnother leading cause of a noisy microwave is an expired stirrer motor. With use this part becomes worn and makes a loud grinding noise, which is usually a leading indicator that the part needs to be replaced. The stirrer is a metal blade that is slowly turned by the motor. This action disperses the microwave energy in a random pattern, which heats the food evenly. If the stirrer motor is determined to be nearing expiration, it should be replaced to halt the grinding noise.
  • Turntable motorA very common cause for a noisy microwave is a worn out turntable motor. This is a relatively easy repair and will put an end to the noise once replace

SOURCE: Microwave will not heat food and is noisy

Sounds like the magnetron has failed. This is the component that produces the microwaves that heats the food.

The cost of the magnetron is about 95% of the cost of a microwave oven. Most people don't, for this reason, replace the magnetron, they replace the whole oven which is probably what you will end up doing.

There is a possibility that the circuit that provides power to the magnetron is faulty and you need to take it apart, find the proper electrical leads and test them with a volt meter. To do this you have to remove it from its mounting and take it apart. It is a fairly lengthy process however.

Check to see if the vent is not jamming the motor. It could be something fell into the fan blabes. It could be a noiy motor and this would be a warranty issue.

Microwave fan/vent is excessively loud. How do I

Most vent hood fan motors don't need any maintenance. Over time, the motor and bearings may become stiff because of the constant heat, humidity, and grease to which they're subjected.

Also over time, the blower wheel gets greasy and dirty, which can slow down the fan or cause vibration. Remove the wheel and clean it with a degreaser. Then, if the fan is still slow or if it vibrates, you need

Microwave ovens heat by bombarding the food or liquid in the oven with super-high-frequency microwave sound energy. If there's no food or liquid in the oven to absorb the microwave energy, the energy can feed back to the microwave itself, which can permanently damage the internal microwave antenna (magnetron).

Magnetron If the microwave is loud or noisy only when cooking, the magnetron tube might be defective. The magnetron uses high voltage, high current DC power to generate the microwave frequency that cooks the food. Under normal circumstances the magnetron is nearly silent. However if it is damaged or nearly burned out it can begin emitting high pitched or growling noises. It's not normally dangerous to use a microwave oven when it makes these noises, but they are an indication that the magnetron is almost dead and will need to be replaced.

Exhaust Fan Motor If the microwave is loud when running the fan motor might be
Stirrer Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the stirrer motor might be worn out. The stirrer is a metal blade which slowly turns around, deflecting the microwave energy in a random pattern inside the microwave oven. As the motor nears the end of its useful life it begins to make grinding noises. The microwave will not heat food evenly without this stirrer, the motor should be replaced.

Turntable Motor If the microwave is loud or noisy the turntable motor might be worn out. This is a common problem and relatively easy to replace.

Model nn-n765 Was running made a scrapping noise then shut down now completely dead won't start no lights nothing

A wild guess: the scraping noise was a motor bearing seizing up (fan or turntable). A thermal cutout blew when something overheated. This would have taken several minutes to happen.

Alternate, and more likely explanation: the scraping noise was actually high-voltage arcing in a failed component, most probably the voltage doubler capacitor. This would blow the fuse. Replace both the capacitor and diode; the diode was probably overloaded and could fail at any time if it hasn't already. At $5-$10, it's cheap insurance against having to fix the thing twice.

When you press start the microwave starts with a low hum and sounds like a bearing or fan is vibrating, micrwave still heats up and works just runs rough. Bruce

Ther is a loose peace of metal in the magnetron, it is not a big worry, it's just noisy, i have a noisy microwave and it is working fine for 10 years now, if you use the defrosting mode you should hear the noise (on and off) because in the defrost mode the magnetron energises on and off, it could be the cabinet vibrating as well look for loose peaces of metal

    Good luck!

Exhast fan seems jammed. When you try and run it you get a bad loud hummm like the motor is jammed. The fan had been noisy when running before, so wondering if it was loose before this.

Noisy can indicate a bearing failing and it sounds like it finally siezed. Try spinning the fan by hand and run it again. It might need the bearings lubricated to get a little more life out of it.
