Question about Heating & Cooling
How can I fix a vibrating sound on a ecox mini split. A.C Open Question The a.c makes this loud vibrating sound that comes I think from the motor. Can help me on some info on how to fix this problem before I get it nd break it in pieces.
IT depends on how old the unit is and the conditions in your area but in split systems the motor is connected to a blower that produces the air flow. This blower is cylindrical in shape with a number of bars that produce the air flow. Over time this blower builds up with debris from the air in you building ( cooking fat--smoke -moisture- etc and is like what collects on the filter. This is what unbalances the blower and has to be removed first. Look up under the opening where the air comes out of and you will see the blower and you will be able to see if it has a build up on the blades. There are ac cleaning products on the market that you can spray in while the unit is operation but be prepared to have to catch the dirty air and bits that will come out. If you have no experience it may be best to get an ac mechanic to come and clean the unit for you.
