Question about Computers & Internet

Supermicro C2SBA+II motherboard all hooked up but won't start. There is power as indicated by the inside LED being on. Help troubleshooting?

After much angst and research and a couple of helpful solutions from Fixya Experts I have discovered that my motherboard is a Supermicro C2SBA+II motherboard. I was able to locate a manual online and connect the correct wires to the corresponding pegs. I press the power button, nothing. How do I troubleshoot to see if it is the motherboard or the power button?

SOURCE: wires connection

If you know where the board came from i.e. a dell laptop model number or dell desktop model number this would help.

The issue is this is a Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0cm 5.4pt 0cm 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0cm; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman";} propretary version of the motherboard and can have different configurations based on what machine you got it from.

This is a link to the Dell Dimesion 8400 spec for that board.

The E210882 is commonly the D865GLC motherboard from intel spec is here.

Need working X5DA8 SuperMicro Motherboard

Looks like a good idea, except for one small factor;

In the FixYa T.O.S. it states there is no buying, or selling on FixYa,

http://www.fixya.com/terms

HOWEVER, there are plenty of other websites, where this is allowed.

If FixYa allowed selling, and buying of products in the product problem/solution area; there would be no room for problems, and their solutions.

(FixYa would be more like Craigslist, or Ebay. Not the world's largest product support website)

There are currently production shortages and non are available but some should free up in the next 8 to 12 weeks on the top end. Just keep shopping around to some sites that do list them. Also try searching google for some new merchant you may not know. I found quite a few with the search term: SuperMicro X5DA8 server motherboard

The vga doesn't work

You need the latest drivers to make sure there are are no problems & you can download them from

http://www.drivers-updates.net/drivers/motherboard-drivers/SUPERMICRO-Motherboards-drivers.html

The only other reason is hardware failure for which there is no other solution but to use a separate graphics card on a PCI slot of the motherboard to get proper display.
The last option would be to change your motherboard.

After BIOS upgrade from fdd motherboard C2SBX Supermicro does not starting. Coolers are starting, but not video and not starting BIOS.

Reset the bios (use the proper jumper or rmove the cmos battery for some minutes) and start the pc. Enter the bios settings and locate and load "setup defaults". Save and reboot. If everything works fine make any changes you need at bios settings. I assume that the bios update procedure finished normally, without crash or power failures.
