My car radio keeps popping going off then it is connected to my head lights

If your car radio is popping and turning off when you turn on your headlights, it's possible that there is a bad ground connection. Here are some steps you can take to find and fix the issue:
  1. Check the ground wire: Start by checking the ground wire on your car radio. Make sure it is securely connected and not damaged.
  2. Check the ground connection to the car frame: The ground wire should be connected to the car frame or a metal bracket. Check this connection to make sure it is secure and not corroded.
  3. Check the battery ground: The battery ground should also be checked to make sure it is secure and not corroded.
  4. Check the alternator ground: The alternator ground should also be checked to make sure it is secure and not corroded.
  5. Use a multimeter to check for voltage drop: Use a multimeter to check for voltage drop between the radio's ground and the battery ground. If there is a significant voltage drop, it could indicate a bad ground connection.
  6. Clean the ground connections: If you find any corroded ground connections, use a wire brush to clean them. Then, reconnect the ground wires and test the radio again.
If none of these steps work, you may need to take your car to a mechanic to diagnose the issue further.

3 lights to a 3-gang (3 swi tches). Replacing switches. Current switches>2 have 2 blk wires & no ground wire. 3rd switch has a ground wire. New switches all have a ground wire. Should I wire all 3...

All 3 switches should be grounded, plus one box should have a ground wire to the box ground screw, all ground wires into the 3 gang should be connected together, run a 4th to the metal box and one to each switch ground.

The ground should be a green insulated wire from one of the screws on the fixture then attached to the bare ground wire with a wire nut.

Ground Connector "G304" location

Hard to believe the ground would be that far away. I worked on my son's '95 Chrysler sedan, and had to find the power windows ground. It was behind yhe trim of the left kick panel, just below where the bundle of wires from the door entered the cabin. You should check there.
If you have a hot wire at the master switch, you can check the ground right from the master switch. Put positive lead of a voltmeter or testlight on the hot wire (key must be on) and negative lead into the ground terminal for the switch. If the ground is good, meter will show battery voltage or the testlight will light. If the ground is lost, nothing on the meter-The chrysler had a broken ground wire right in the door opening, Maybe you already checked and have no ground...the ground is likely close to where the wires enter the cabin. Good luck.

House wiring

Generally if there is no ground wire, then grounding is not possible without running new wire to box.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-switches.html#outlets

Sometimes, the ground wire is cut back so wire appears to have no ground wire. Then if wire can be pulled out further, the ground wire can be discovered.
Sometimes a nearby outlet or switch box will have ground wire that can be brought to box with no ground.

As general rule with 120Volt outlet, the neutral wire is bonded back to same busbar as ground wire, and then both ground outdoors to copper ground rod.

Do not wire electric motor without ground wire.
Generally other light household appliances such as lamp, or tv, or electric drill have polarized plug with no ground prong, and are double-insulated and there is little risk or need for a grounded plug.

Do you pull a ground to your new generator or just use a ground rod

Hello, an interesting question. I am not sure what your local codes state, for myself to prevent any ground currents, I would pull a #6 ground as a minimum and not install a ground post. Like I mentioned above, your local codes may or may not require a post. Be sure that you connect the ground from the generator securely to the existing ground in your existing ground system.

Power/ Ground Problem. Im running a 6ga Power wire to the battery (approx 6')with a 40amp fuse. The amp turns on, then about 10 seconds later blows the fuse. The ground is the same ga wire and is grounded...

1. Start by undoing your ground.
2. Use a jumper cable to hook up the ground to the battery ground.
3. Install fuse and test.

If it continues to blow you have an internal amp problem.

If it fails to blow a fuse you have a problem with the chassis ground.

If it is a ground issue you can chase down the various ground straps and clean the connections or you can run another ground cable to the chassis (body) ground to the battery to reestablish the connection.
