Question about Sony Grand WEGA KDF-42WE655 42" Rear Projection HDTV
I removed the old light engine, put in the new light engine. I believe I did everything correctly. TV attempts to power up, but can't. Did I mismatch some wire colors?
Is the light engine the exact type?. ensure it is what are the old engine wire colours and what are the new ? red matches brown green for yellow white for black or grey but still u need the exact light engine match

The installation of a new lamp will not affect the color of your image.Normally what happens is that because a new lamp will add more brightness to your image, the color issue is then more noticeable,so its possible that the color issue was already there .

the wires pull out but a better way to do this is with everything else out lift the board up so bottom faces rear of set--be careful when soldering at the chips a quite a number of surface mounted parts near the pins on the STKS.

5 Years!!!! Wow...you guys must barely watch any TV for a lamp to last that long. Most people average every 2 Years or so. Just go out and buy a brand new lamp...Approx. $200 plus tax or so. Should solve your problem ;^)
But before you do... just in case... go into your TV Menu and reset your video setting to factory... its very easy to do on screen (no manual required). Cheers!
