The Air conditioner are good only the adjustment of thermostat are the problem, select the thermostat in lower #3 you observe the thermostat will off in such time temperature reach to #3 If you full adjustment the compressor will not off.
In fan selector the compressor will autamatic off because no connection attached fan only .

It sounds to me like the compressor is overheating and tripping on internal or external overloads. After the unit cools down again it will try to run for a little while. Then this cycle would start over. I would check the condenser coil for dirt and filth. This portion of the unit may be on the out and backside of the unit. You should at least be able to see light through the coil.
I believe the thermistor that you removed temporarily is used for a freeze situation. I do not believe that it is your problem. Good luck:)

check with the company u brought it from and check if you have not put the correct conector to the right temals on the back of the switch.

are you speaking of the outside fan or inside? compressor should be a little warm but not boiling hot. the unit could be low on freon. if low it will run a while but the compressor will overheat and shut off leaving the fan running by itself ouside. if nothing outside is running check power. if you have power check the contacted outside to make sure it's pulled in. contacters are bad about going out on goodman untis. Also ants can get under contacts.

be aware that not repairing this asap that you are causing yourself more problems First I would change out the fan capacitor and see if this could be the problem. Secondly if the capacitor isn,t the problem change out the motor . By continuing to allow the system to cycle like this the compressor will take a dive on you costing more . Good Luck

Many times a freezer and/or refrigerator do not work right because of a dirty condenser coil...there are also many other things that can go wrong.

Here is the reason for that problem per the manufaturers web-site
The low-pressure switch senses the refrigerant pressure in the sealed refrigeration system to
protect against certain conditions that could be detrimental to compressor life. The switch shuts
the unit down in the event of loss of refrigerant, fan motor failure, evaporator freeze-up and
airflow blockage. The switch automatically resets when the pressure rises to normal operating
pressures. The display will show "LP" if this switch is tripped.
The low-pressure switch will shut the heat pump down when the evaporator starts to freeze.
When the unit starts to freeze the low-pressure switch will be tripped, causing the display to read
"LP" This will prevent the evaporator from becoming damaged or deformed.
If the air outside the heat pump is not warm enough to produce heat, the system will shut down.
The actual point at which your unit will shut down due to low temperature varies depending on
which model you purchased, current weather conditions, and the amount of sunlight reaching the
heat pump. The shutdown can occur anywhere within a wide range of temperatures, usually 45°F-
55°F. This is not a "fixed" range. We stress that climate conditions, sunlight, and various models
respond quite differently to low ambient temperature. A shutdown occurs because low
temperatures will activate the systems low-pressure safeguard switch (digital thermostats will
display a code "LP".) The unit will start up again when the temperature has raised enough to reset
this switch. Note: Low ambient temperature does not necessarily affect the Chiller models
or the cooling cycle of the heat/cool units.
