Here's a link to a video of the leak - http://youtu.be/j2CzPUGk1C8. It's center screen in the shadows behind the white wiring plug. Looks like a 1/2 inch drain pipe 6" or so back from the kickplate slightly behind to the right of where the filter housing drops down from the main washing chamber. I've cleaned the filter, reset the dishwasher, checked for clogs in the drain pipe, and checked impeller is clear of obstructions and turns. The leak starts about 5-10 minutes into the Normal Wash setting. Pan fills with a half inch of water, float switch is activated, then the normal wash light blinks and the drain pump runs and won't shut off until I cut the power at the breaker. What's causing the leak??

do they flash lik all on one side then the other? Start a cycle, then open the door. Do the lights flash the same way when you open the door as when it stops? if soyou may have a door that needs to be adjusted so it closes better. when the cycle ends, is there any standing water in the bottom? if so you may have a poorly routed drain hose or a partial clog in it. Last, pull the bottom panels off and look inside the bottom of the dishwasher and see if there is standing water down there . If ther is you have aleak somewhere or a bad drain pump. You r only other choice is a bad pressure switch. If youve already adjusted the water fil to the proper level ( just up to the grey plastic housing that the lower wash arm sits on) tehre really aernt any more options. Hope this helps!

Do you mean to say that the washer does not go into the wash cycle at all, or washes poorly?
An answer to both can be found HERE.
This article HERE will help you determine if your impeller needs replacement.
Hope that helps. If you need further clarification, or have additional queries, please post back. If you are satisfied with my response, kindly take a moment to "Accept" my solution. Thanks.

This is a anti flood activation. It is a safety device (polystireen float and micro switch at the base of the washer) that keeps the drain motor running due to water leak / spill detection. Dry the water and rectify the leak (normaly pipe or clamp leak) and this should solve the problem.

IF you still have water standing in your dishwasher after it's done running you most likely have a damaged pump. This is quite common and is usually caused by a piece of a broken dish/glass or a small utensil getting down into the pump and breaking the fins on the empeller. This is a fairly envolved repair that requires taking apart the pump in order to repair it.

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/PUMP MOTOR/DRAIN to work when it is commanded .If this does not happen then the voltage at these points must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage/drive from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect. Check how to remove the control panel: http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/dishwashers/a/3/1287/how-to-replace-a-hotpoint-dishwasher-fascia-p.html If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor. The water pressure must be good and the spraying must be seen to be good. If there is low pumping or pressure then the spray arms will not turn around to inject with pressure. If so the pump must be checked for clogging.
