Question about Dishwashers
I have a Miele Inspira Series, two of them actually ONe we have used every day since purchased and the other we used only occasionally. A few years ago the occasional use one stopped working. It would start, water would flow then all lights would flash. We kind of forgot it because it was just used for overflow anyway. I ended up having another problem with a Samsung washer and called a repairman and the company also worked on Miele so I had him take a look at the dishwasher. Turns out there was a TAZO teabag stuck in the motor- but at any rate, that tea bag caused the motor to burn out- it gets hot and the tech said I need a new motor- to the tune of over $1100....I paid $1500 for the dishwasher. We have not fixed the machine, we will probably contact Miele but I wanted to know before I do how its possible for anything to get stuck in the motor???? Looking at the machine it looks very unlikely this could ever happen. My next questions is if Miele is unwilling to aid us in fixing the machine, are there refurbished motors out there anywhere? I'm also confused because the motor does start- the machine does run, then it quits and the lights flash. I thought maybe removing the bag would be enough, but it was not. Thank you- trying to avoid either a pricey repair or having to buy a new machine.

There's a rectangular slot under the triple filter at the 12 O'clock position. The circulation pump impeller wheel faces you inside that hole. I would recommend using a special wrench for doing just that. The box wrench could get stuck and break off a blade on the impeller. I think Miele will mail you the special tool for free if you call them with the Model and Serial number. They say the pump seal inside there gets tight if it's not used on a regular basis and the hot water or the tool frees it up. I think they could use ceramic washers instead of rubber. They don't change size so there would be much less tourque required to start the pump.

I shut off the dishwasher, held a few of the buttons together at the same time, let it sit for 5 minutes, then restarted it and it worked!

Miele makes a special tool that you use to free up circulation pump. The price for that pump is about 800-900 dollars.Call miele and ask for that tool.

Try more or less detergent. Is rinse aid solution and detergent dispensers working properly? Otherwise, you may have an issue with quality of water.

Hi dear.It sounds like your machine have faulty bearing on main wash pump. That bearing can worn out it self or there is a leakage on impeller housing, that leakage can cause harsh chemical to get in to the front bearing of motor & damage it.Your machine should be under warranty, call Miele service in your country.I hope that helps.Thanks.
