Does your gear selector move easilly? Does it bind or sound like it's grindeing? If it does, then chances are that there is some debris that got trapped inside the houseing. You may need to take the houseing appart to clean it out. If this isn't the case, then you will need to go underneath your vehicle.
Locate the transmission linkage, and ensure that it's secure and attatched to the transmission. Have someone inside the cabin move the gear shift from one gear to the next, and check the linkage for ease of movement and to much play. To much play is easilly solved by just tightening the retaining nuts, or just by replaceing the cotter pin, depending on your vehicle model.
One last thing, if it's been awhile since the last time your transmission saw any service, then you may need to replace the fluid and filter. The filter on most models is located inside the transmission oil pan. Once you have drained and replaced all the fluids, turn on your vehicle, and work the shifter through all of the gears. If that still doesn't work, then it may be time to replace/rebuild your transmission. Let your mechanic know everything you have done in an attempt to fix the problem on your own before jumping to this conclusion as they may have a solution that I haven't yet stated here.

Error 86:01

Follow these steps :
The encoder strip may be dirty and needs cleaning. The encoder strip has many tiny lines on it, that the carriage sensor counts to determine its location in the printer environment. If this strip gets dirty, the carriage sensor will read several lines as one and in the end it will try to go past the carriage path; when obstructed it perceives this as a paper jam.
The encoder strip is located just behind the slider rod, the shiny rod that guides the carriage back and forth. The encoder strip should be cleaned with a lint-free cloth wetted with clean and luke-warm water (no water allowed to drip into the printer!). Be careful not to pull hard on the encder strip, it can VERY easilly break or jump off its attachment points!
First gently slide the carriage over to the left and clean the right part of the encoder strip, then slide the carriage over to the right and continue with the left side of the strip. Note: Always clean FROM the right side to the left, since the strip is attached to a hardpoint on the right side of the printer and to a leaf spring on the left side. According to Murphy's Law, pulling on the leaf spring WILL make the encoder strip jump off the hardpoint hook on the right side, causing a mess to get it back! (not supported...)
But in many cases this solves the 86.01 error

I took out the lint filter to clean and it will now NOT slide back into the slot. It just stops about 1/4 of the way up the screen. This is the first time this has happended in the 2 years that i have owen...

you need to clean out the dryer or have someone come in to do it.unplug the dryer, remove the lint filter and then you have to remove the duct that the filter slides into and clean that but you have to take the dryer apart to do this, next you have to vac out the cabinet where the motor is and clean out the vent line,if it's a long run i use a leaf blower to do this, remove the vent line from the back of the dryer,go outside and make sure the vent is clear then go back inside stick the leaf blower into the vent line and blow all the lint have lint stuck in the tracks that the lint filter slides into, get a skinny long screw driver and poke out the lint,if you have an electric dryer you should do this once every two years if it's gas once a year so you don't have a fire, next time send the model number and the name of the machine you need help with so i can help you better,if you don't know how to take apart the dryer send the model number and i can help you but there is lint stuck in the tracks that the filter slides down into and if that's like that then you need to clean out the dryer

How to set it to high, med or low

Grease filters can be cleaned, according to your manual.

If you've misplaced yours, it's online here.

Charcoal filters cannot be cleaned and must be repaired.

From the manual:

Reusable Grease Filters
The reusable grease filters should be cleaned at
least once a month. Never operate the
microwave without the filters in place. In
situations where flaming might occur on
surfaces below the hood, filters will stop the
entry of flames into the unit.

To Remove Grease Filter
To remove grease filter, grasp the “finger hold”
on the filter and slide to the rear. Then pull filter
downward and to the front. The filter will drop

To clean Grease Filter
To clean grease filters, soak and then agitate
filter in solution of hot water and detergent. Do
not use ammonia or ammonia products because
they will darken the metal. Light brushing can
be used to remove embedded dirt. Rinse, shake
and remove moisture before replacing.

To Replace Grease Filter
To replace grease filter, slide the filter in the
frame slot on the back of the opening. Pull filter
upward and to the front to lock into place.

How do I get the filters out to clean them. I have a 1650 model

I have included a link to take you to GE and your user manual which can be viewed or printed.
To remove the grease filter:
To remove,
slide it to the
side using the tab. Pull it
down and out.
To clean the grease filter,
soak it and then swish it
around in hot water and
detergent. Don’t use
ammonia or ammonia
products because it will
darken the metal. Light
brushing can be used to
remove embedded dirt.
Rinse, shake and let it dry
before replacing.
To replace, slide the filter
in the frame slot on the
left side of the opening.
Pull up and to the right
to lock into place.
To remove the charcoal
filter, disconnect power at
the main fuse or circuit
breaker panel or pull
the plug.
To change the charcoal filter:
Remove the top grille by
removing the 2 screws that
hold it in place. Slide the
filter towards the front of
the oven and remove it.

My whirlpool gold accubake system-oven is not heating right. about a few weeks back I saw the bake element spark and thought it was no problem, but I guess I was wrong. Did I fry the bake element or is...

yes if you turn the oven on bake that element should heat pretty quick, if not its toast..
if i had a model # i could be more specific but generally all you'd need to do is turn off the breaker or unplug the unit.
remove the screws that hold it to the rear of the cabinet, and slide the element straight back towards the front enough to expose the screw or slide on connectors.
now you can either remove 1 wire at a time and have the new element sitting under the old one and transfer then as you go, or remove 1 wire and bend if over some so it won't slide back into the unit and get lost..
after the wires are reconnected slide the element back into place and replace the screws and restore power and cook..
hope this helps,
best of luck,
