Probably calcium build-up in the water valve. If you can get to the valve, see if you can take the water line off and put a little Calcium/Lime/Rust (CLR or a similar product) in it. If you've got one of those syringes like you inject spices into meat and turkey, that would do the trick. You might also try an eye-dropper. BE SURE to flush the line throughly after you put the tubing back together. For safety's sake, flush it twice as long as you think you have to.
That should do the trick. If not, you may want to remove the valve and see if there is a calcium build up there. It's the 'bottleneck' of the water flow system, and I'm betting that's where the blockage that's slowing the water flow is. Worst case scenerio, buy a new water valve.

SOURCE: ice maker mal-formed ice
no "slug" is available however you could just use a reverse osmosis diaphram pressure tank to boost the water pressure. you can also use a water supply tube to bypass the in-refrigerator completely.

SOURCE: I have a Kenmore Refrigerator:
The water pump probaply is switch on by a flow switch. So the solution is to install a pressure tank after pump so to have stable pressure and not a pulsing one.
