SOURCE: keyboard problem

If you can remove the keyboard from the laptop you can try cleaning the back of it with a que-tip and a small amount of rubbing alcohol. Most likely it will need a replacement keyboard, or you could plug in a desktop keyboard so you can at least use the computer until you get a proper replacement.

If you post the laptop maker and model number I can try to help you further.

SOURCE: Keyboard keys not make contact

if you are smart enough to figure out how to pull out the keybord you can try gently rubbing the contacts to clean them and re-seating them, but probably are better off getting a replacement keyboard for the laptop- as they go for 20 to 40 on ebay for most models.

SOURCE: mouse pad wont work after water spill

not difficult..with right tools and patience..the touchpad is part of the upper assembly, and requires that the bottom be removed. When I do this, it takes around an hour.

SOURCE: sticking keyboard keys on toshiba satellite L10

you could remove the keyboard but it probably wont do any good. They keyboard on a laptop is typically a solid slate with individualy key slots that can be individualy removed and replaced. simply pop the key off, use a alcohol swab and press firmly to replace....its just that easy,...and no tools needed!!!
it wil probably take an hr or so to finish all the keys.
Good Luck!!!

F keys do not work f3,f4,f5,f8,f9

You will need to replace the laptop keyboard, go to Type: make and model of laptop, refine search to keyboard. It would not hurt to use an external keyboard to be sure.

My display dimming keys are not working, all other keys are working it is the f2 f3 keys,

try blowing out all of the dust from your keyboard using a fine air blower from an air compressor making VERY sure there is no MOISTURE in the lines.
dust causes static which causes lots of problems with a computer and its parts
or if this does not fix the problem
click start control panel keyboard you can change your settings there
or you might have uninstall the keyboard restart your computer then reinstall it and its drivers
click start control panel keyboard hardware then properties you should see driver details, update driver, roll back driver, uninstall
make sure you have the driver for the keyboard before uninstalling the driver
make sure the lead is good and has a secure connection diconnect the keyboard then reconnect it then reinstall the driver
hope this helps

Several keys on my Acer Aspire 3680 (P, Q, TAB, etc.) have stoped working. What is wrong, and how can i fix it?

you can check ebay for a new or used working keyboard and replace it yourself. most keyboards are easy to replace. MIght be some screws on the bottom holding the keyboard to the laptop or the up area of next to the LCD will pop off and there will be screws under that to allow you to replace the keyboard. just be careful with the ribbon connection on the motherboard some of these are thin and easy to break.

Changing keyboard on Fujitsu T5010

Remove the square screw covers above the keyboard on either side of the swiveling screen hinge. Unscrew the 2 screws and use a small flat head screw driver to remove the plastic cover above the keyboard. Do this by inserting the screw driver underneath the plastic cover near to the f keys on the keyboard and gently pop the cover off. Carefully remove the ribbon from the motherboard, use a small screw driver to release the clip that holds the ribbon in place (ribbon located above f3,f4 keys). Slide the keyboard up and it should release if it doesn't then there may be some sticky tape holding the keyboard down, this is located behind the f2,f3,f4,f5 keys, carefully pull the keyboard away but hold the keyboard by the f keys so that you do not damage the keyboard by bending it. Reverse the procedure to fit new keyboard

Keys on my SK9920 do I clean it?

The same thing happened to me with my gateway keyboard. The f2, f3, and f4 keys were stuck down in the keyboard itself. I just wanted a quick fix, so I soaked a paper towel, rung it out, and cleaned the keys like that, all the keys work wonderfully now
