I have installed the iball face2face camera C12.0 but no image


Check to see if its a hardware or software problem.
Plug your camera in
Go to this site and see if your webcam works using 3rd party software.
Hit "Allow" in top window and the cam should fire up in the left hand panel.
If it works there you know you still have a software problem

If you have Vista, you can uninstall the software, plug the cam in and the software will be installed on boot-up.
If not, I would recommend you uninstall the software - run the CD again and then go into Device Manager, expand the Imaging file, right click on your webcam and select the update drivers option - from the internet.Delete any redundant webcam software if found.

The WEB cam (camera) is normally a USB device, it can send and capture video images as well as still images. You can talk and see people over the Internet with a WEB cam.
You need to install WEBcam software for that particular model WEBcam on your computer and configure it to run with Skype, or any other VOIP (voice over IP) software. The WEBcam software will allow you to create a video (movie) and take still photos, it will allow you to store these images on your computer.

When you mean "send videos", did u meant video conferencing with your friends? If that's the case, are you using skype or yahoo messenger to do video conference? Try running the Camera Assistant Software, it's an application by toshiba to view your cam offline (no internet needed). If that doesn't work, try re-installing the software. You can find it here. If you can use that software & can see yourself on the offline webcam tool but not on your third party software, try the "Roll Back Driver" option (Device manager > Imaging Devices > your_webcam > properties > driver > roll back driver)

QuickCam Express, blurry, snowy picture...sometimes the picture is totally shaded red


Hi,

Many factors can affect the image quality of your pictures. If you are experiencing blurry images, please try adjusting the focus ring located around the lens.

This will allow you to focus the camera image on objects at different distances.

Also, make sure there is good lighting. Improving the lighting conditions can improve the image quality considerably.

Connection Issues:

If the image quality is poor while transmitting video over the Internet using video enabled programs such as MSN Messenger, Yahoo! or AOL Instant Messenger, your connection speed to the Internet directly affects the image quality of the transmitted video.

Corporate LAN, DSL/cable modem connections will result in the best image quality experience, while dial-up connections may result in choppy and overall poor quality because of the slower connection speed.

Even broadband connections such as DSL/cable modem may experience choppy video at times because of Internet traffic or slow upload speeds.

If the image appears clearly in the camera software, most likely your Internet connection may be responsible for the poor image quality in your video program.

Changing Display Adapter Settings:

If you are still experiencing a distorted, fuzzy or grainy image, you may need to change the settings for your display adapter.

For optimal image quality, please make sure the video display adapter is set to display at least 16-bit high color or higher.

To change the color palette please perform the following steps:

Click on "Start," "Settings," and "Control Panel."

Double-click on the Display icon.

Click on the tab labeled Settings.

In the dialog box labeled Color Palette, verify the video mode is set to 16-bit (high color) or 24-bit (true color).

Also, check with the manufacturer of the video card for updated video drivers.

Low Light Boost:

If you cannot do anything to improve the lighting situation, some Logitech video cameras have an option for "Low Light Boost."

If there is an option for "Low Light Boost," try enabling the "Low Light Boost" in the QuickCam software.

To do this:

Open the QuickCam software.

At the bottom right hand corner of the camera image box, click on the arrow next to the QuickCam icon.

Choose "Advanced Camera Settings".

Under the Image Enhancement box, place a check mark in the "Low Light Boost" option.

If that does not improve the image quality, try adjusting the other image settings, such as contrast, saturation brightness, gain and white balance.

Click OK when your are done.

Last, make sure that you ae using the latest drivers.

My webcam has all of the sudden started running slow on msn, it didn't before, so I don't understand why it is now, I've installed 3 different cams and it's doing the same with each one
