Right click on my computer icon and choose manage. In Computer managemen, if you see a CD rom drive, the it is only a matter of changing a drive letter ,,,,, if you don't see in computer management, then the PC has not recognized it from boot.

Hello.. I need some help. I am using toshiba satellite a1O system unit..my laptop was fyn till nw..all of a sudden windows doesnt load..when i turn the power on, the toshiba logo is shown..then black...

Hello
First thing you do is to see what hard disc installed in your laptop. You can check that by checking it in your bios system. To check in your bios system first turn off your computer then press delete while your laptop is booting up. Then you will see if there is a hard disk detected in your lap top if there is a detected hard drive this means you have a problem in your windows installed in your lap top.
There is also a reason why those message appear if the first boot of your laptop is the CD/DVD ROM. Check you CD/DVD ROM if there a CD inside this may the first on to read while the laptop booting up. Remove the cd inside your CD/DVD ROM. Then restart your laptop. Check your hard disk connector it may have some loose contact thats why your laptop did not recognize the hard disc.
Hope this can help keep on touch with fixya. Hope to hear some testimonial from you. . .

I am trying to eject a cd from the drive, but it just cycles. There is no hole to manually eject the cd. Any ideas/

Pull out the CD drive from the lap top, take apart. Take the Cd out from the top if possible when dissassembled.

Fujitsu lap top cant find cd rom so i cant load softwear

Go check your BIOS to make sure the cd rom drive is recognized by the system first, as if it is not, you will not be able to use it.
If the cd drive is removable, try removing it and reinstalling it first.
If the drive is recognized press the F12 key to get into the boot selection and choose CD Boot.
I hope this helps.
Good Luck.

DVD writer, master drive

If you have both the DVD and CD drives connected to the same ribbon cable you want one set to Master and the other to Slave, or both set to CS (cable select). Good luck.
