Canon s520 will not work have older install disk will not install driver .I am using windows xp.Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, try downloading a current working driver at the canon website (google canon, it will take you to the site list, go to drivers, type in your model and download to pc. Save new driver n disk in case of needing a reinstall later. Make sure you uninstall all drivers for the printer first then install new one. Good luck.

Actually you can install the printer from the internet by simply downloading the drivers from this
Canon support site.You just have to select your Operating System[Windows Xp,Windows7,Windows Vista etc] to download the corresponding drivers.

Dont have the software to install canon S520 printer to a toshiba lap top.

The drivers you need for that printer are available here:
http://usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/s_series/s520?selectedName=DriversAndSoftware
You will have to determine what version of Windows (or other OS) you have.
Microsoft has an excellent article available on how to determine what version of Windows you have, if you don't know it is available here:

Try TOTALLY unplugging the printer. Power AND input cables. Reboot the computer and reconnect the printer. Some printers hold errors until all sources of power and communications have been cleared.

How to install a printer canon s520 without a cd?

You can download the drivers and software applicable for your canon s520 here:
http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/s_series/s520#DriversAndSoftware
Select your operating system first, then install the driver for your printer. After installing the driver, download and install whichever software you would like.
Your printer will now work just fine!

Go to this link. If you have Windows Vista, the driver for your S520 is included in the Windows Vista package, but you can download the Add-on Module to give you the full options package for your printer. If you have Windows XP, there is a driver located on this page. (Select your OS in the dropdown box.)

You need to go here:

http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDDownloadIndexAct

And select the type of printer from the list on the right, then on another list and it will give you the drivers as a free download.

do repair windows xp using bootable xp disk and choose repair option when asked. if it work then install cannon drivers for xp only. if not re-install xp and choose appropriate drivers.

You can get to the place where you would download the driver (it will have JUST the users guide listed until you select your operating system... Windows 98, XP, etc) that you need for this printer.
