SOURCE: HP ze5470us memory upgrade not fully recognized

Hi there,

I am almost sure that you, by accident of course, switched the memory blocs, so that you have put in one 256MB and one 512MB.

Have a look at the once you have on the table.

The reason for this is so u dont void the warranty if there is one, and also they can tell you exactly what kind of memory you will need to do the upgrade so you dont waste money getting somthing you dont need ok i hope this helps you out... best regards mike

I have a HP NC6120 laptop and am tring to upgrade the RAM, I found one card slot, but, don't know where the second socket is. do you?

Hello, and thanks for using FixYa.

If the 2nd slot is not in the bottom of the laptop, then you will find it from under the keyboard.

According to HP specifications of the laptop the memory is Upgradeable to 2048-MB maximum (1024-MB SODIMM in slots 1 and 2) So yes the laptop does have two memory slots. It will be under the keyboard.

Please let me know if you require further assistance or if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Ekse

Its not recognizing my sd card reader

Make sure you can see the Secure Digital host controller and
Texas Instruments PCI GemCore based smartcard controller in the Device Manager. If its missing, re-download the drives from HP.

If you are trying to use a SDHC Memory Card in the reader,
you will need updated Win XP TI drivers as the ones on the HP site
do not support the newer memory cards.

This goes for the nx5000's nx6110's nc6120's and nc6320's.
Updated XP TI drivers are needed
