Replacing a condenser fan in centralized A/C

On of the common problem with centralized A/C unit is a bad condenser fan. I have known people who called an ac technician to fix their ac because of a bad condenser fan and suggested replacing the whole unit! Costing them a lot of money when all it needed was a 50 dollars condenser fan! If the condenser fan do not run or it runs only when you give it a push, it'sbad. You will also notice that it is vey hot. When replacing a condenser fan you may want to replace the starting capacitor too. Replacing a condenser fan is not very hard, just make sure that the power to the ac unit is turned off at the breaker box. Confirm that the wires are not live by using a meter or an ac tester. The fan motor are held with brakets sometimes just screws. Most fan you can buy that has reversible rotation by just reversing the plug. Make sure it is blowing upwards. If not reverse the rotation. So if you notice that the unit is not putting out cold enough air and you went outside and noticed the compressor running but not the fan, turn off the AC right away and do not use it untill the fan is replaced. Running the unit with a defective fan can damage the compressor caused by overheating.

How to replace air condenser on a 2004 Ford Taurus ses dohc

The condenser unfortunately must be replaced from under the car, so the job is best left to a shop with a car lift.

How much to replace the condenser on the toyota celica 2001 GT? The condenser has a hole in it and needs to be replaced. Been quoted $700? Is that a fair price since the cost of a condensor is $150....

Labor to remove and install, a/c condenser and drier is 2.5 hrs, same time for drier bolts to condenser, so will have to come out anyway to replace condenser, To evacuate a/c system and recharge, takes 1 lbs of freon, 1.4 hrs, total labor time X there hourly rate = your cost for labor, the parts price is good, the labor time is from Mitchell labor guide, this is some thing repair shops used to be fair with customer's when it comes to charging labor.

How to replace the a/c condenser

First evacuate the freon from the A/C system. Then disconnect the A/C lines from the condenser. Then remove whatever mounting bolts that hold the condenser on and replace it. Be sure to replace the old A/C line o-rings with new ones before re-installing them into the new condenser. Last, recharge the A/C system with the proper amount of freon.

Al aluminium condenser life time

Both aluminum and copper coils should last the life of the air conditioner. What really determines the life of the unit is the compressor. You could conceivably keep a condensing unit working indefinitely, but the number of service calls, the difficulty in finding replacement parts for an older unit, and the increased energy efficiency for a new unit will make it worth your while to replace it.

Where exactly is the orifice tube located at on a 1996 (DOHC v6)?

it's in the high pressure liquid line.

A/C Evaporator Core Orifice The A/C evaporator core orifice (19D990) should be replaced whenever the A/C compressor (19703) is replaced for lack of performance (internal damage). The A/C evaporator core orifice, located in the condenser to evaporator tube (19835), cannot be serviced in detail as a component of the line. If replacement is necessary, follow the procedure outlined for Liquid Line Removal and Installation. An orifice tube replacement service kit may be used as an optional service procedure. Refer to Section 12-00 for information regarding the use of an A/C Evaporator Core Orifice Replacement Kit E5VY-19D695-A.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A/C Evaporator Core Orifice Replacement Kit Installation
  1. Discharge A/C refrigerant system. Refer to System Discharging and Recovery as outlined.
  1. Remove condenser to evaporator tube (19835) from vehicle.
  1. Locate A/C evaporator core orifice (19D990) by three indentations or a circular recess in metal portion of the condenser to evaporator tube.

  1. Note angular position of ends of condenser to evaporator tube so that it can be reassembled in correct position.
  1. Cut a 63.5 mm (2.5 inch) section from condenser to evaporator tube at A/C evaporator core orifice location. Do not cut closer than 25.4 mm (1 inch) from start of a bend in tube.

  1. Remove contaminants from the two pieces of the condenser to evaporator tube.
  1. NOTE: The inlet half of the condenser to evaporator tube will be positioned against the A/C evaporator core orifice tabs when correctly assembled.

Lubricate fitting with clean refrigerant oil and assemble orifice tube kit (with A/C evaporator core orifice installed) to condenser to evaporator tube. Make sure flow direction arrow is pointing toward evaporator end of the condenser to evaporator tube, and taper of each compressor ring is toward compression nut.
