I purchased a used 1996 honda civic coupe from a private seller...the test drive was great and when i drove it home it was great. no problems. it has high mileage (203,000). when i got home i decided to take it for another drive and within 10 minutes i was broke down. was stopped at a red light, foot on brake, went to hit the gas and the car did nothing. just revved up everytime i hit the gas. pulled into gas station and turned off car. restarted the car and it cranked right up...put it in drive and it went...but as soon as i hit the brake and tried to hit the gas again it just revved up..wouldnt go. annnd got worse throughout the evening. couldnt even drive it home. we tried ATF and it seems thats not the problem..spoke to the person i bought the car from and they said nothing has ever happened like that to them and that they replaced the whole transmission at 137k...has paperwork. so my car is parked and i cannot drive it....need help desperatly. whats the problem????
There is only 2 things that can make a trans slip.. low on fluid, which i asume is now at the correct level.. or a blown clutch pack inside the trans itself. which will require the trans to come out to be overhauled,, sorry

i also forgot to add that there is a troubleshooting code that is p0700 which is trans control system and p1758 which is a/t concerns and says lock up control solenoid valve b...so im guessing i have to get a new solenoid??
i have a friend thats pretty good with cars thats trying to help me do all this..im just trying to find the right solution before i dish out lots of money..
