Had same problem K-Star 10 both contactors, Check all your connections, I found 2 loose. If the contactor closes and can't get enough power the voltage drops, contactor starts to chatter. Loose connections also cause arcing and fires. The manual says do not store clorine in the same room.
I took the contactors out, to the bench, applied 208volts to the coil and beat on them till they stopped acting up. Put them back and they work. They are very ugly on the inside I will replace them as soon as I can find new ones on Monday..

Hard to saw from here, but I assume you have a book on this, find your hi limit switch, it will have a reset button on it. It will be behind a rubber plug on the housing but is hard to reset sometimes. If you pull the cover it is easy to reset and once you see it you will be able to do this with the cover on.
If not this some damage may have been done to the coil in the contactor, you should be able to see it pull in or at least hear it klunk when the heater kicks on.You probally won't be able to feel heat when it runs as it is designed to protect you from scalding when it runs but you should feel a slight difference in the temp of the water coming from the returns in the spa. good luck and let me know how it works out.

The red light/heat won't come on when I turn the heater knob. The breaker is not tripped and I have power.

You may have a burned out heater element. These can be checked with a volt/ohm meter with the power turned off and the wires to the element disconnected. They are easy to replace, but be careful and make darn sure the power is off when you stick your hands inside these heaters. If the element is good, you could also have a bad contactor. If you are comfortable with using a meter and understand current flow, it is quite easy to check with the power on. Where the power stops is where your problem is. Just be very careful, you are playing "you bet your life" when poking around inside the heater with the power on.

If tank is rusted and ready to rupture, then turn water heater off:
Over next days, turn water heater on for short periods to make hot water when needed, then replace water heater.

We have a brand new rheem 40 gal elec water heater, after installation we have water leaking from the base of the relief valve, pooling up in the plastic fitting and making it way over the side all over...

Water heater should be set in a drip pan.
Otherwise, put 1 gallon bucket under TP release pipe to catch water.
http://waterheatertimer.org/Water-at-bottom-of-water-heater.html#drip-pan

When you say relief valve, I assum you are talking about brass valve located on top of tank or near top of tank. This is TP valve and a pipe connects to this valve and runs down to within 6" of bottom of tank. TP valve has a small lever on it.
If you are talking about tank drain valve located at bottom of tank, then add a comment.
Following information is for TP valve.

Dripping TP valve can be caused by 3 different thing:

1) Obstruction inside TP valve. Open TP valve for a moment to flush away particles and slowly lower lever back down. See if water stops dripping, if not, then replace TP valve

2) Defective TP valve: replace TP valve. Turn off electricity to water heater. Let heater cool for several hours so you do not get scalded. Close shut off valve located above tank on cold side. Open tub spout to relieve pressure, open tank drain or open TP valve and empty water below TP valve level. If TP is located on top of tank, not much water has to be drained. Tank is under press when hot, so be careful. Put teflon tape on new valve and install with big pipe wrench by turning clockwise until TP valve is very tight.

3) Overheating tank. TP valve is temperature-pressure valve. If tank water is over 150 degrees, the TP valve starts drizzling hot water to relieve tank pressure.
Lower tank pressure two different ways:
a) turn down thermostat
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-adjust-water-heater-temperature.html
b) install expansion tank on incoming cold water line

I changed the contactor and the thermostat, the contactor does not kick in right away, is it supposed to? is there something else i need to change? thanks

The Cspaxi series also have a pressure sensor which senses the pressure inside the heating tank. This sensor connects to the coil on the contactor, insufficiant pressure in the tank will cause a delay in the contactor activating. It sounds like your problem can be caused by insufficiant water flow from the pump, a clogged or pinched water line to the heater, or a faulty pressure sensor.

No Heat from Spa

Tcarrigan,

Heater contactors "buzzing": Do you mean normal buzzing or extra loud buzzing? Loud buzzing or chattering can be caused by low voltage to a contactor. If normal sounds, then probably the relays on the contactors is working, but the contacts may be stuck, or burned enough so as not to make contact. First, get a voltmeter and check for 240 volts AC at the heater contactor terminals. If the voltage is low, most likely you need to check the contactors further. Check for dirty contacts, clean if needed. If the contacts are not moving when energized, then you will probably need to replace one or both of the contactors.

Electric space heater contactor won't stay latched

Jumpered the bimetal thermostat and everything worked smoothly. Tried to clean contacts in thermostat with no luck, so ordered a replacement. At least it was cheaper than the contactor.
