SOURCE: I have no spark on the road side of my 1997 18

not quite sure if you have spark at all or just on one cyl, either way it is unlikely that your main coil is bad but look for a wire on that side of the mower that may be shorted to ground and if it is it may have sorted out your trigger coil. It is a very small electronic box about 5/16 thick by 1"x 11/2", light in color. A quote I was given by a kawasaki expert was that nine and a hlf times of ten it is the trigger coil.spendy little buggers too.

SOURCE: my Briggs 18 hp v-twin is starved for fuel. It

A more likely cause is a clogged jet in the carb.

Remove disassemble and clean Carb, the High speed idle jet is clogged.

If you had a fuel pump problem it would not run even in the Choke mode.

This tends to happen when an engine sets for long periods of time with out a fuel inhibitor id is even more likely to happen if you use fuel with ethanol.

Hope this tip helps.

Can I swap the motor from a Husqvarna YTH 180 and put it in a Husqvarna YTH 1848 HP?

The 1848 uses an 18 HP Twin cylinder engine. Mine is a Kawasaki but a similar 18 - 21 HP Kholer will also work. Can't see a problem

How do i disconnect the throttle cable from the carburetor so that I can take out the carburetor and clean it.

the throttle cable DOES NOT attach to the carb on that engine. It attaches to the control panel underneath the carb. you have linkage rods that connect and they either have clips or you need to pull the carb mounting studs

Looking for engine Number on 18 HP Vtwin

If there's no tag/tab with the #s on the engine, go to the unit it came off of and the tag for them would be under the seat with model and serial numbers. and year of mfg.

Engine runs fine til hot.

I think one of the intake valves, or a valve pushrod, is bent or warped. When the engine heats up, the metal expands and the valve starts sticking open. That would cause compression to be lost in one cylinder, reducing available power so things drag when you engage the blades. This would also causes air/fuel to be blown back through the intake. I think you'll need to take it to a small engine mechanic. Good luck! Please rate my solution if helpful, thanks.
