Hot water tap leaking what can i do

That is a simple fix - you need to replace the cartridge that is in the faucet handle. however, each manufacturer is different. NOTE sometimes you need a specially designed removal and puller tool. I found this out the hard way. I had a Moen faucet and needed a collar removing tool and a cartridge puller in order to remove the cartridge.

Tip

Fix leaking faucets yourself

always rember , anyone having problem with leaking water faucets, for example a bathroom sink faucet is leaking, you don't have to go and buy a new one.save youself some money, buy putting new washers in,and if that don't stop it you will need to change the set that the washer seat agains't.
the way to do this first, you would need a screw driver and take off
off the knobs off the faucets, then you will see the washer you would
replace ,but the water has leaked so long you would need to change the
copper set to do this you need a wrench that you can remove the copper
seat then reassemble the faucet and to make this fix last.
always rember don't tighting the knob just enough to stop the water
from leaking and the washer will last alot longer.doing this yourself
you have saved alot of money.

My kohler faucet is leaking. I know how to fix it but the casing is secured to the marble sink. Do I need to remove the cartridge from underneath?

you generally can work on the faucet from up above. turn the valves off underneath in the cabinet area and remove the knobs or handle . From that point everything should be visible that you need to do.

hi! if tightening the knob(s), (or if you apply pressure on the knob of the faucet, for the models with no thread for open/close), modify the amount of water leaking ,you need to replace the seats in the faucet. if not ,just replacing the o rings should fix your problem.

I have two leaking bathroom faucets. Hansgrohe 06042. I replaced both faucet valves from Hans part no. 94009000. They BOTH still leak steadily. They worked flawlessly for two years.

    where are they leaking from?
if they're leaking from underneath, repace the suply lines [between the valve and faucet]. if if from the faucet itself replace your cartrage[s].

    Water Filter Leaks

Since you weren't very specific where it leaks or when it started (like after a filter change) it could be tough to troubleshoot this leak.

If it is leaking at the faucet connection try tightening up where it screws onto the faucet. Depending on your strength (or lack of) you may need to use pliers to get a tight connection. Don't go crazy tight or it will crack the plastic fitting. If it still leaks remove the unit from the faucet and check the rubber washer inside where it screws onto the faucet. Make sure it's still there and is centered inside the cup and seated properly. Then reattach the unit to the faucet and tighten it well.

If it's leaking from the main body try removing the filter and reinstalling it making sure you have seated the filter properly and screwed on the cover correctly, and all the way. When it is tight the water outlet will be exactly at the bottom of the unit. Sometimes it's tricky getting it tight enough especially with wet hands.

Finally, if the leak is coming from the filter on/off selector this could be tough to fix. I would try firmly pushing and pulling the selector knob in and out several times while in both the on and off positions. This may re-seat the leaking seal. I wouldn't be too hopeful about this fix though. You may need to replace the unit if this part is leaking.
