My Craftsman engine leaked gas out the breather when the float in the carb was stuck so it would not close properly. The pin that held it in place came out on one side so the float would not work properly.

Huskee Easy Cut 14.5 hp riding mower will not stay running. Immediately dies after cranking

Sounds like your float in the bowl is sticking..not allowing fuel to continue to feed gas to the carb. Take the bowl off and remove the float and needle valve and clean them..Note check and see if their gas inside the float itself..some times they develope a small rust hole partially filling the float.with gas. ..not allowing sufficient fuel to feed the carb..will need new float. GOOD LUCK.

I have briggs and stratton powered mower with the 18.5 v-twin ohv intek engine modle 407777 type 0121-E5 CODE 000512ZYG MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY CRANKCASE IS FULL OFA GAS OIL MIXTURE THE OIL FILTER ALSO...

When the float in the carb sticks, it allows fuel to drain into the cylinder, that runs pass the rings into the crankcase. When the crankcase is full the pistons cannot go down, and the starter won't turn the engine. Drain all the oil gas mixture, and refill with proper oil. Replace float, needle and seat in the carb bowl. Throughly clean fuel passages, and bowl. If motor won't turn, remove spark plug and turn over engine a few times to remove gas oil mixture from the cylinder too.

Murray Walk behind mower, Model # 20705X6M 5.5 Briggs & \St not getting gas, I have torn the carburator of three times replaced gasgets needle valve cleaned all ports throughly, checked passage of gas...

Clean ALL the very small holes in the brass bolt that holds the carb bowl on.Some are VERY small and easily clogged. With bowl off and the bowl float hanging free, does gas readily flow? It should, and it should of course stop when the float is raised (putting the needle valve on its seat). If this event is occuring, then the main jet must be badly clogged. If no gas even gets into the bow. (not enough details).. then there is a vacuum lock or something strange going on in the fuel tank (cap). The threads of the fuel cap on a mower allow it to vent, preventing vacuum lock of the fuel flow.Start at the tank and go back in. Please repost as this is a good one.

How does the float bowl come off a briggs & stratton model 285777

it depends. if you have a solenoid or not. if you have one unplug it and use a 7/16 to 1/2 wrench, unscrew the solenoid and the bowl will come off. if not there should be a 7/16 or 1/2 inch just unscrew the high jet screw on the lower float bowl off

Murray riding mower 12.5 hp briggs & stratton spitting oil & gas out of carb & muffler when trying to start

Drain oil... it is full of gasoline due to a bad float pin and rubber gromet in your carb. When your float pin and gromet fail, gas just keeps flowing into your carburetor, eventually flooding your motor with gas and oil mix.

19 hp Twin Briggs and Stratton engine floods after a minute

Replace the float, sometimes they get saturated and look fine but are'nt. Also clean out the jets and bowl. The needle and seat may be worn as well. In other words, rebuild the carb. This time of season, after the equipment has been sitting all winter, I rebuild 25 or more carbs a week. It should cure your headaches, and solve your problem.
