Question about GE APN08AA Portable Room Air Conditioner

Open Question

Leaking water The air conditioner has some sort of valve/whole thing in the back that has started to leak water. It was working fine- the water collection area would fill and we would empty it, but now it is leaking from this area in the back.

SOURCE: APE08AK GE Portable Room Air Conditioner isn't draining

I had the same problem and unscrewed and removed the back cover (AFTER I UNPLUGED THE UNIT) and noticed there is a small black tube that the drain tube connects to. Mine was broken off track and I had to physically remove the small black tube, put it back in it's place and super glued new tabs along the side so it would tilk back and drain the water in the bucket vs. the floor via the unit.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: wont no water to empty or drain

Either the unit is really dirty or it is low on refrigerant. A unit tha is low on refrigerant will start off cold and withing a few minutes, start warming up. If you aren't seeing any water its because of one or both causes listed.

SOURCE: why does my airconditioner leak

If this is a window ac then you need the back of the ac lower than the front, so the water can drain to the back.

SOURCE: leaks water into room

Try tilting the a/c to the back. In most cases the manfacture will seguest that the unit be tilted to the back slightely (no more that 20 degrees). That is what I would try. If that dont fix it let me know and we will try together and solve this problem. Good luck

GE Profile Dishwasher leaking from the bottom

If your dishwasher is Leaking check the following

Dishwasher Not Leveled

This is a very common reason for a leaking dishwasher especially if this was a new installation. The framing in a dishwasher is made up of mostly thin sheet metal, so if it is not sitting flat and level things can get distorted very easily.

Door Seal

This is not very common in most dishwashers. To check this look for rips and distortion of the seal. If it is ripped or distorted you will need to replace.

Dispenser Seal

This is a more common place for a leak to develop. This is easy to check, remove the front panel and carefully inspect around the seal for water dripping or stainage. If any is found replace the dispensergasket.

Water Inlet Valve

Usually it is the connection to the water inlet valve that ends up leaking. Check this connection ( there is usually some sort of adaptor between the valve and supply hose) for leaks. Check the connection on the back of the water inlet valve also. Ocassionaly a water inlet valve will leak around the solenoid in this case reokace inlet valve

Drain / Circulating Pump

Some dishwashers have separate drain and circulating pump. Some use one pump to serve both purposes. In either case you will need to check the housings for leaks along with all the connections. Some dishwashers have a seal that leaks down into the pump . This is easy and inexpensive to replace.

Door Latch

The door latch can become loose or misalinged. Check both the striker and the latch. To adjust the latch you will need to remove the front panel and adjust switch until properly aligned.

Door Hinges

They can cause problems, but this usually only happens from opening a heavy load of dishes on the door. Occassionaly a broken spring or cable occurs. You will need to remove the toe kick and maybe the front panel to inspect.
Use the VOM. God bless you

You may have a break in the water line between the street and your home. Last year I had a duplex that had a leaking water main and the water followed alongside the sewer line right out the back of the property, while never giving indication that there was a leak. You could have a leak locator come out to check lines. Also Check your flappers and handles in the toilet first as well the fill valves (if the water is going over the top of the fill tube in the toilet tank then adjust them or replace). As a last thought I saw a video recently of a cat which continuously flushed the toilet. This may sound bizarre but things like this happen.

Hot water leaking from what i think to be the pop off valve. i tried to tighten it a little and it started leaking more. The unit is 16 years old. The excess water is draining into the catch pan and then...

Hello
16 yrs old? Im guesing this is a hot water heater. Not a air conditioner.

If its still making hot water you may not need to replace the whole unit.
The valve that is leaking is a high pressur relief valve and they do go bad the sprigs become weak over time and some corrosion may not allow the valve to seat properly.

1st step is to shut off all incoming and out going water to the tank.
2nd Shut off fuel or gas to the unit, and annonce to everyone your are working on the hot water heater.
3rd at the very bottom should be a drain valve much like a hose spicket, open this slowly and drain the tank, remember the water will be hot.You may not need to drain it all the way, while draining pop open the relief valve, when you stop getting water from it,you are below it and can turn the drain valve off.
4th remove old relief valve and replace with a new one,i think they are rated at 15 psi or 30 psi blowoff pressure, hopefully there is a tag on it with that info.

When you go to install your new one use some pipe thread compound or teflon tape around the threads before you reinstall valve.
Once done slowly refill tank with water, check for leaks. When full open up hot water valve to house and relight buner.open a faucet in kitchen to hot to bleed off any air.

When ballcock stops the water flow water escapes through the 6mm hose to the dump valve overflowing no to the roof

the 6mm hose is a bleed off hose and is meant to leak water out. the tap is to adjust the quantity. if you dont want any leaking out remove the hose from the dump valve and have it drop back into the tank

My air conditioner is leaking from the front of it

Are the three drain plugs tightened?

If you're stumped, try to drain the inside tanks and see what happens: Unscrew the three drain valves at the back, and put a pan to catch any water (only a few cups). Let us know what happens.

Water leaking out of unit, not out of flow tube.

Some models have a hose, some don't , maybe the drain hole it's restricted, condensor normally it's in the back of the unit, you might have to remove one of the side panels.
