SOURCE: I need a replacement blade guard for my EMS 1100 A

Is this the Ryobi EMS2026SCL?

What is the brand name?

I am just trying to help you here but you should be able to get parts through Bunnings Warehouse in AU or NZ. I could care less about the money.

I think the 1100 number is for the Laser only. (

How to I fix a Ryobi Miter Saw Blade Guard which is not retracting?

Sound like a piece of wood may have driven the arm up which operates the guard, if you remove the screws holding the guard support plate to the saw you should be able to remove the guard assembly, the arm can then be re-bent down on the end so that it meets the angled plate on the back of the guard and pushes the guard through the entire stroke, the other reason could be a damaged guard, when the centre screw is removed the plates can be removed from the guard, note how the spring and plates are assembled prior to dismantling, check the inside centre of the perspex guard and ensure the 4 protrusions which engage with the drive plate haven't broken off, if sow the guard will need to be replaced, this may now be an obsolete part , if so purchase a Makita guard as they are the same

I HAVE A DW716 MITER SAW AND NEED TO CHANGE THE BLADE, BUT I'M NOT SURE EXACTLY HOW TO REMOVE THE BLADE GUARD. I KNOW THAT I NEED TO PURCHASE THE CORRECT BLADE WRENCH TO DO THE JOB. CAN YOU TELL ME THE...

Hi there
You do not need to remove the blade gaurd to change the blade. You only need to raise it enough to acces the blade screw. Unplug the saw. Raise the blade arm. Raise the guard to it's upper position. On the left side of the blade, just forward and up slightly from the blade screw is a screw for the guard bracket. Loosen, but do not remove this screw. Once it's loosened the guard can be raised farther exposing the blade screw.
pg 6 of the manual illustrates this process, here's a link so you can see the parts I am discribing,
http://servicenet.dewalt.com/Products/Detail?isId=true&productNumber=DW716&selectedType=12803#
click the pdf icon next to instruction manual, then open the file.
As for the blade wrench, this should have come with the saw, there is a slot in the base for storing the wrench, on the back left side, it slides in and out for safe keeping. If you have misplaced the wrench the DEWALT part number 608563-1

Can't find my owners manual. How do I change the blade. Bolt hits on a guard that covers the arbor. On a DW713 combination saw.

Removing the Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. Raise the arm to the upper position and raise the lower guard as far as possible.
3. Loosen, but do not remove guard bracket screw until the bracket can be raised far
enough to access the blade screw. Lower guard will remain raised due to the position
of the guard bracket screw.
4. Depress the spindle lock button (Fig. 3) while carefully rotating the saw blade by hand
until the lock engages
5. Keeping the button depressed, use the other hand and
the wrench provided to loosen the blade screw. (Turn
clockwise, left-hand threads.)
6. Remove the blade screw, outer blade clamp, and
blade. The inner blade clamp may be left on the
spindle.
Installing a Blade
1. Unplug the saw.
2. With the arm raised, the lower guard held open and the
guard bracket, place the blade on the spindle against
the inner blade clamp with the teeth at the bottom of
the blade pointing toward the back of the saw.
3. Assemble the outer blade clamp onto the spindle.
4. Install the blade screw and, engaging the spindle lock,
tighten the screw firmly with wrench provided. (Turn
counterclockwise, left-hand threads.)
5. Return the guard bracket to its original position and
firmly tighten the guard bracket screw to hold bracket
in place.
WARNING:
• The guard bracket must be returned
to its original position and the
screw tightened before activating
the saw.
• Failure to do so may allow the guard
to contact the spinning saw blade
resulting in damage to the saw and
severe personal injury

Chain saw motor runs but chain doesn't

There are a couple of reason the saw blade will not turn.
- Make sure you have bar and chain oil in saw.
-Make sure oil is running on the saw blade and chain.
-Make sure the clutch is not stuck.
- Make sure the bar sprocket is not frozen.
-The safety kick back guard needs to be re-set.
-Shut off saw. Push and pull guard.
Please let me know what you find.

I am missing the part that brings the guard back when you lower the saw blade

I am assuming that you have some type circular saw?
Most popular saws use a spring to return the guard, with the saw unplugged raise the guard and see if the spring is there(you may need to take off the blade) if it is not there, replace with proper spring.one end of the spring will hook onto the fixed 1/2 of the guard the other to the front of the moving guard(consult manual if possible).once this is done insure that the guard mover freely and is not in the way of the blade.Replace the blade in proper direction check guard again for proper travel, make sure everything has been re-tightened .
If the spring is there check for material build-up or debris that is causing
guard not to move, remove blade clean debris or obstruction, replace blade and check for proper operation. Also visually inspect where the moving guard is attached to the saw for any unusual marks or wear this could be a sign that some type of unsafe situation exists,if this happens refer to a pro to fix or buy new never use a saw without a properly working guard,it took 141 stitches to repair my friends leg.

Change blade

OK first raise the cutting head. Loosen the screw that holds the guard in place and move out of the way. Find the spindle lock on the right hand side of the gearcase and turn blade by hand (UNPLUG SAW FIRST) until it locks. With the wrench supplied with saw put it on the blade bolt and turn it clockwise to loosen, it has left hand threads, remove outer flange and blade. Let me know it you need any more help
