Question about Hitachi LifeStudio Computers & Internet

Hitachi lifestudio 2 tb manual

A movie I tried to move from my hard drive back to my computer... I accidentally let go too early and put it by the arrow buttons on the lifestudio .. so now it thinks the movie is invisible. I cannot put the movie back onto my hard drive because it says the movie is invisible. How do I make that correction?

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: Problem with Hitachi 1TB external hard drive

Most likely you just burnt up the adaptor. You can order another one from Hitachi.

The data is probably still intact on the drive itself.
You can connect it to your computer with an adapter that plugs into the drive itself and the usb port on your computer. It then shows up as a drive letter as normal.
You can buy these sata to usb adapters at most computer stores for around $25. Tiger has a nice selection:

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/search.asp?keywords=sata%20to%20usb%20adapter

I would pick one with an external power supply. It also connects to your hd. The ends are keyed so you can't miss-plug them.

Or find a local computer tech (most have this cable in our toolkit) and he probably will copy your data in a few minutes for you.

Probably not. A hard drive is very delicate and if dropped the lasers could have broken or even the discs.

do you have 2 usb cables coming out of the drive
make sure you have plugged both in to usb ports and you mentioned your computer is old htere is a possibility you might have usb1.1 ports which doesnt support 1tb external hard drives
use this guide to chek your usb version http://www.usbman.com/Guides/checking_for_usb_2.htm

I lost the softwear, how do i get a download of it for the hitachi lifestudio ?

More than likely the software is available at Hitachi's website, so check there or give them a call if you cannot find it through the website. They may be able to email the software to you or provide the link by email. If the software is licensed in some fashion, they may ask for the serial number of your external hard drive, so you might want to have that handy just in case.

Im trying to recovery my music in my hitachi tb, but usb doesnt recognize the device, help

If you PC does not see the drive (assuming the PC has all the required USB drivers), then, 1 check and or subsitute the USB cable. 2. check the power supply/wall wart for correct power. 3. check the USB plug on the PC, try a different one if equiped. 4. the USB interface card in the external case may be toast. You will need to check or sub the interface to ensure that's not the issue. 5. place the drive in a different case with a different USB interface.

Computer won't recognize external hard drive anymore Hitachi lifestudio

Try connecting the external hard drive to another computer to recover/backup your data.
When you have such a large capacity hard drive, it pays to have a second large capacity hard drive to backup your data in the event of the other hard drive dying.Hard drives do fail especially if you accidently drop it.
