The air conditioner only seems to be working/blowing through the bottom vents, and not the main vents.

Usually a sign of a stuck blend door under the dash.
Could be a faulty blend door actuator, or the main controller.
You may need a shop manual to make the repairs since this is generally beyond the abilities of a DIY repair book.

Check the cooling fan relay. Have a guy(or girl) at an auto part store (AutoZone, etc..) hook up a diagnostic code reader to the hookup uner the steering column dash. I replaced mine, but it was timely and alittle tricky. If you have some tech ability, you can do it, but if not, it will probably be about $350.
If you let the jeep run with the a/c on, look at the cooling fan and see if it cycles on after a few minutes. If it doesnt, it could be the relay, if it does come on, then it could be a condensor prob.

2006 jeep liberty don't blow hot air from heater

More detail information would help. Is your blower motor working ? If you turn the A/C on, do you get cold air from the vents ? If the motor is working, then you might have a problem with your actuator. Might just be a blown fuse.

2008 Jeep Liberty-My heater was barely warm-blowing fine tho. Was told I had a plugged heater core and needed a new one. Had a new heater core put in and then my air conditioner stopped blowing cold air....

I woild be checking the vent controls as if the ac is working and the core was blocked then the air would be cool when the heat was selected but not changing Fixing the heater has resulted in a /c not being good enough to cool the air if the vent is not properly selecting. The point is that if the vent selection is not working properly (vacuum hoses) then the 2 faults will be related.

2008 jeep liberty vents not blowing out air?

I also have an 08 liberty, but my issue is that the heat won't blow out on the floor....the air vents and defrosters work great. You can hear it trying to switch over but doesn't. You need a new Air Flap Actuator (16-$30) The real issue is that you have to take offf the whole das in order to fix it. That is abouy 9 hours worth of work.

2002 Jeep Liberty

I have a 2002 Jeep Liberty and after driving for about 30 minutes the air conditioner would start to blow hot air. The air conditioner clutch was sticking. I could hit the clutch and it would kick in and start to work. I went to Advance Auto and purchased a big spray can of electric motor cleaner and a big spray can of WD-40. I soaked the clutch with the electric motor cleaner, used the whole can, then soaked it with half a can of WD-40. The clutch has worked perfecty ever since.
