Television screen flickers when bathroom fan is turned off?

Well, I bought this television and it would not turn on. Capacitors where blown and I replaced the power board. Works great. When bathroom fan is shutoff the screen turns off for about a second or two. Something tells me this is very bad. Is this why the board blew in the first place? Will this cause it again? Should I get something like a backup battery or something to provide a clean steady current, since the television apparently is not.

If the bathroom fan and your TV are on the same circuit, it is likely that the problem will continue

well I was just shocked by the TV slightly. and the screen flickered. I think there's a grounding problem. would that be accurate?

Tv comes on as it should, but picture and sound both go out after a few minutes. Then it comes back on after a minute or so. This continually happens and there are no blinking lights. Help

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Take it to a repair shop.

Samsung plasma tv ps42c7hdx flickering lines

Yes, yes, yes. Change all bulgy, puffy capacitors by exactly the same value and voltage. Look for any excessive voltages in these areas where you find such capacitors. But replace capacitors only one by one. Never remove all of them together, as you are likely to misplace the capacitors, creating more problems. Also look for any loose contacts and dry solders.

Does not Turn On

You will have to remove the back cover, they are a few screws to undo, once undone gently prise the back cover off. You are looking for the power board, if unsure just follow where the cable plugs into the back of the tv. Check for any signs of blown componants on the board, the main culpruts are the capscitors, they are barrel like in shape with silver tops, if you see any dark liquid resadue on or around them they are blown and need to be replaced, also check the tops of the capacitors, if they are slightly domed or pretruding they also need to be changed.

Check the board for any fuses, there should be at least one on the board, if you have or can get hold of a continuity tester, test the the fuse, if it has blown you can get them from your local appliance repair shop or stores like maplins, or online electronic stores, the same with the capacitors. hope this helps and post back if you require further assistance.

The screen flickers

The backlight inverter board may be going bad or the power supply problem. Look for bad capacitors.

Samsunb 4051: TV screen turns off sound stays on.

Most likely this set has an "integrated" inverter, as most samsungs do--and this DOES sound like an inverter problem. Make SURE thought, there are no more bad "10 volt" caps on the power supply...ALL of them need to be replaced no matter HOW they look.
