SOURCE: Question about Swarovski Scopes

iv had this problem many times before,,,its more likley to be a bad set of mounts not inline with the barrel,,, if you have ran out of windage adjustment,, to get over it i use a strip of 35mm film inside the scope mount to push the scope over a bit,,, but a new set of mounts would be the best way forwards

SOURCE: I have a nightforce scope

It could also be the ammunition. If its federal or remmington ammo it probally isnt but if its generic ammo it could be. it is unlikely that the scope would be off, then back on again. I am sure you made sure the two mounting screws are tight and that there was nothing in the way when you put it on like a small piece of metal from when the scope was made that might have gotten pinched in the mounting clamps. Also, are the screws tight for sighting in the scope?

Adjustment

you have a gun mount problem its not a scope problem ,,,the scope mount is not a good fit to the gun and is off set to the barrel,,,
set the scope to center of its ajustment and then "pack out the scope with a bit of old 35mm film till you get it close to were you need it to hit then do the last bit of ajustment on the turrets,,this works for lift and windage

not with a "tasco" there a bit of a cheepy scope, if it was a good make then it would be worth the cost of the repair, put it this way,,,the scope you fit to your rifle should cost 3 times more that the rifle did! a tasco scope on e-bay costs what? £150.00p to be honest theres a big "0" missing from that price?

Tasco 6x24x42 cosistancey issues afield.

It has to settle in to the mounts an the mounts to the gun. You take a screw driver and tap on the scope as you adjust it. Tap with the handle and just tap it not bang. every time you make an adjustment tap it. The 222 does not give a great kick so you do not get the settling from that, you have to cause it by taping the scope with the screw driver.
