go here and look at part number 810,this is the water tank in the fridge section, get a hair dryer and heat up the tank where the water lines connect to it,also g.e. has problems with the water line in the freezer door the line freezes up.also when was the last time you changed the water filter?try this, open the freezer door and remove the bottom kickplate,on the left side you'll find a connector for the water line, disconnect it shut the door and hit the water dispenser,if water comes out of line where you disconnected it then you know the line in the door is frozen,if no water comes out i would change the filter and it that doesn't work i'd have to say you have a bad water more thing and this might sound crazy but if i didn't see it myself i wouldn't believe it,when you went to dispense water have you ever noticed that the condenser fan motor would sound like it was slowing down and also the strip in the middle where the doors close together touch it to see if it's hot,i've found three mother boards bad from this,i'd dispense water, and the fans would slow down, i hope i'm not confusing you by telling you this, lets stick with the basic things first disconnect the water line under the freezer door and behind the kickplate, shut the door and hit the dispenser,if water comes out of the hose the water line is frooze in the door,if no water comes out, heat up the water tank with a hair dryer, after a while like 5 to 10 minutes hit the dispenser but water will leak out the tube if the tanks frozen,if that doesn't do the trick i would change the water filter and if that doesn't work bad water valve,if you look down where the kickplate is you should find a tech sheet that will tell you how to jump out the ice maker, now what did you change out the ice maker?you said you changed two parts, what's happening that you changed the ice maker, was it not getting water to it,i mean if you're not getting water through the door and no water to ice maker, you either have a bad water valve or filter, start there and heat up the water tank,if that's frozen you won't get any wateralso look at this it will tell you how to start the harvest cycle on the ice maker,i beleive you shut it off for 20 seconds, turn it back on and move the arm in and out like three times.
hope this helps and good luck, let me know please what you find.

SOURCE: GE Monogram ZISS480DMCS Ice Maker Problem

The water solenoid valve should have 120v going to it. (You will need a multimeter to chk this). You will need to also chk. for proper ground when verifying the 120v. If you get 120v on each of the pin clips, then your plug is not properly grounded, which means that you need a new ice maker circuit board. This is located in the in dispenser (front panel opens).

Check to make sure you freezer is at 0 to 5 degrees. If it is not the water valve to the ice maker will not even open.

SOURCE: Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.

SOURCE: water dispenser not working but ice maker does

The water line freezes inside the freezer door. There is now an add-on water line heater you can install to thaw the line.

How do I shut down the water flow to the ice maker

There are three ways.
1. Shut water off to the fridge via plumbing valve.
2. Lift arm on ice maker or use on/off switch depending on ice maker model.
3. Unplug ice maker wiring harness. It won't be able to call for water.
It depends on why you want the water off. A make and model of the fridge would help so I can give you a more specific answer.

No ice, it has water on door but no ice.

There are two sides to a water control valve. The ice maker side and the water dispenser side. So what I am saying is the problem could be the ice maker side of the dual water control valve. Is there still old ice in the ice maker? If not then pour tap water into ice maker. If after the water freezes and then dumps the ice into the ice bin that will indicate a defective water control valve, If ice maker does nothing but hold old shrinking ice cubes this would mean you have a defective ice maker. Let me know your model number and I will look up the part numbers. I will be here should you have questions, Thanks Sea Breeze

I have model #TFX25PRYAWW. Ice maker is not filling with water. Water still operates through door dispenser.

NUMBER 800 is your water valve. It has 2 solenoids. One for water and one for ice. I suspect your ice solenoid is on the blink. It could also be dripping slowly like a faucet and clogging like a stalagmite the ice maker fill nozzle. The only other thing in the ice box that controls that water valve is the ice maker itself. if the water valve is ok then the ice maker ain't getting the power to that water valve solenoid.

What you think is probably correct. Water valves can seep water and freeze the fill tube. Remove the ice maker and the fill tube remove ice from the fill tube and replace the water valve.

The ice maker is making ice but it doesn't turn to let the ice fall out the chute? It's a GE side by side.

Are you saying that water in ice maker is frozen and it won't turn to drop ice, if so then I/M is bad, if it is dropping ice into the bucket and not droping ice thru the ice shoot on door that is another issure. If that is the case we will need model & serial number of machine.

GE model GSH25JFTACC ice maker not working

When an ice maker is producing ice poorly--when it produces just a few cubes or none, or when the cubes are too small--it's usually because of a clogged water line or a defective water inlet valve.

First, check the water line attached to the back of the refrigerator for good water flow. To do that, first turn off the water supply valve. Then remove the water line from the back of the refrigerator. Next, place the water line into a bucket and momentarily turn the water valve back on to test the flow. If the flow is poor, you need to repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water. If the flow is good, you may have to replace the water inlet valve.

GE side by side with ice and water in door

This is a problem with my GE side by side also. It only happens occassionally and there doesn't seem to be any fix. I've had GE repair service here more than once. It seems that the insulation in the door is insufficient to keep the water line from freezing up. Small wonder GE is part of this awful financial mess.
