Open Question

Comcast remote

When I use the "All On" on the Comcast Remote, the receiver turns on but the audio goes off. I have to shut it off and turn it on again for it to work. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

2. Hold down Speaker A & B buttons simultaneously then press master power switch

Display will flash at 1 second intervals denoting that the microprocessor has reset.

3. Release Speaker A & B buttons

Remote should now work.

SOURCE: Denon AVR-1708 Have you ever heard

Hello!

I hate to ask but, was there any light interference between the remote and the Denom device?

using your cellphone camera again to test the infra red emission of your device. Aim the camera to the infra red of your device. you must see at the screen of the camera that the infra red is illuminating.

if not the infra red sensor of the device is busted or faulty
and needs replacement. It could also mean you have a cold solder on the ir sensor board inside the Denom AVR-1708.

If you have a soldering iron and lead, try to reach the ir sensor board by opening the case of your device. Resolder all terminal junctions. And see if it works normally again.

I would still suggest you have it check by a certified technician, to avoid inflicting more damage to your unit.

Good Luck!

Turning off close caption on xfinity tv

The Comcast boxes let you enter a special menu only when the box is turned off. Just turn off the Comcast box and press the menu button on the remote you will then see a menu for the box where you can turn on and off close captioning

My comcast remote won't turn on or off my yamaha rxv365 audio receiver only controls the volume the code i put in was 30176

It controls the volume just fine. It's the power that doesn't work. I'm having the same problem with my Yamaha receiver. Different model. Multiple Comcast remotes too.

Comcast remote

The volume keys should be working by default, but you may have volume punch through turned on (meaning the remote is sending signals for TV or CABLE volume function no matter what mode you are actually on). To unlock volume control for AUX mode, do the following:
1. Press and release AUX
2. Press and hold SETUP until the remote blinks twice
3. Type 993
4. Press and release VOL-
The remote should blink four times to confirm unlock.
