Hi,

Sorry to disappoint you: This calculator is not programmable.

Good luck.

This will show you how to do statistics (calculate average, standard deviation, regressions etc.) as to the mode and median refer to the definitions.

TO COMPUTE STANDARD DEVIATION AND 2-VAR STATISTICS.

I assume
you
know the theory. I will show you the key strokes

For
1-Var statistics

Press [MODE][3:STAT] [1:1-VAR].
You are ready to
enter values in the X column.

Enter a number and press [=]. Cursor
jumps to second number to enter.

Keep entering numbers and pressing
[=] till all numbers are in. Press the [=] key after the
last one.**Press
[AC] key to clear the screen.**

Press
[SHIFT] [STAT] (above digit 1.) then [5:Var]. Screen displays the
statistical variables 1:n ;2: x bar; 3: x sigma n; 4:x sigma n-1.

Press
the
number corresponding to the statistical value you want, ex 1:n . The
variable appears on screen. Press [=] and it will be displayed.

To
display another variable press [SHIFT][STAT][5:Var][ 1,2, 3, or 4] .

To access the sum of squares sigma x^2 and the sum of data sigma x
press[SHIFT][STAT][4:SUM] then [1: for sigma x^2] or [2: for sigma x].
Press [SHIFT][STAT][6:MinMax] to access minX and maxX.

For 2-var statistics

To
perform
2 variable statistics you press [MODE][3:STAT] and any of the
other regression options (except 1:1-Var). A two column template opens
where you enter the X and Y values. When finished entering data, press
[SHIFT][STAT][5:Var]. to access the different statistics. As I assumed
above, you should be able to
recognize what each variable means.

You can do it the same way people did it before calculators were invented. Just use the quadratic formula: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quadratic_formula, and let the calculator handle the arithmetic. Some sophisticated calculators have generalized equation solvers that can handle equations much more complicated than the quadratic, but the fx-82 isn't one of them.

Sorry, It is not possible to solve equations on the Casio FX-82 ms. Try the Casio FX-115 ES/ FX-115 ES Plus, FX-991ES/ FX-881 ES Plus C.

What you want to do is solve the linear equation 2x=10 to find the value of the unknown x that makes the equality true. Solving an equation usually involves rearranging therms, factors and so on. However your calculator was not designed to handle the solution of equations, no matter how simple they are.

Some Casio scientific calculators can solve some types of equations (polynomials of degree 2 or 3, simultaneous linear equations in up to 3 unknowns). These are the FX-115 ES (Plus) and FX-991 ES (Plus C). Other equivalent models are sold in the world under different names.

There is no equation solving mode (utility) on this calculator. Sorry.

Sorry, but this calculator does not have an equation solver.

Your scientific calculator is unable to solve complex equation with complex coefficients. You should try to solve by hand directly using the quadratic formula or by factoring the polynomial in z

failing that, another way would be to set z=x+iy, substitute this for z, carry out the algebra and try to separate real and imaginary parts. But your two equations will constitute a system of two quadratic equations. I am not aware of any general method to solve coupled nonlinear equations.

Good luck.

The FX-901 calculator seems to be the equivalent of the FX 260 Solar sold in North America. It does fraction calculations, permutation, statistics but lack the Equation Solver.

You cannot use it to solve equations.

Casio Scientific calculators that can handle equation solving are the FX-115 and FX-991.

Simplify your first equation by dividing all its terms by 3, then use elimination to carry out the solution by hand.

Not all calculators have that. The Fx115ES and the FX991 ES have a lot more options thatn the FX300Es and FX350ES. I believe you only have COMP (general computational mode), Table and STAT.

Why? It was not designed that way.

By default the calculator only works with real numbers. To use complex numbers, press MODE 2 to switch to complex mode.

Sorry, but you cannot calculate limits of functions with this calculator. It does not have a Computer `Algebra System (CAS). For that you need a graphing calculator with CAS: Casio ClassPad 300, 300PLUS, 330, HP 48 GII, HP49 G/ G+, HP 50G, TI-NSPIRE CAS, TI89 Titanium, TI 92/92PLUS, TI Voyage 200 PLT. It is still a very good scientific (non graphing) calculator

However, you can calculate numerical derivatives, and numerical integrals, solve linear and non-linear equations.

Even though this post does meet your expectations, do not let that prevent you from rating it.
