I can't drive the car a mile and it's still running hot. Please can someone help me

You should drain and flush your radiator then follow the instructions in the Manual when you refill (with Coolant not plain water) And make sure you have the heater turned all the way up. Fan off and AC off. It would seem as if you may have an airlock in the system. You may be able to cure this by bleeding the system, but as you don't say what make and model your car is I can't be more specific.

    There is another possibility, you may ahave a failed head gasket. A garage can test for this by diping the radiator header tank. A good sign of head gasket failure is a creamy substance on the oil filler cap- this is an emulsion of oil and water. head gasket failure can cause overheating due to the combustion gasses heating the coolant.

Lets start with the easiest most obvious to rule out first. 1. make sure you dont have a leak in the radiator,its hoses, heater core or any were in the system that may becausing you to lose coolent. 2. check and see if the themometer located in the system is working to make sure its opening as needed. these 2 things make up for about 65% of vehicles running hot or over heating, and are the easiest to check and cheapest to fix. be very careful not to be fooled into unneeded repairs by a so called car professional. check around town and see who the locals recommend id ask about 10 to 15 different people and see who the reccommend and have my vehicle brought there. are possibly if your mechanically inc. you can get the information on how to do the work yourself depending on your vehicle

Be sure you check engine oil level often. The low oil sensor will disable the ignition. If you turn A/C on the cooling fan should run continuous, Check the fan relays. Make sure coolant level is correct at recovery bottle, never open radiator cap. A scald hazard exist, be careful. This car is old and complicated, and is beyond your skill level to repair. Try to inquire here for advice, whenever possible. Don't throw good money at bad money

Zafira 1.6 petrol 4 injectors open when hot


I woud suspect if it is all 4 it is an open circuit in the wireing. When faulting & won't go follow the injector wireing back from the injectors & slightly bend the wireing harness while someone is cranking the vehicle. Pay particular attention to where the harness runs near the exhaust (if it does) & check for any melted parts of the loom or conecting plugs. Also disconnect the loom at the 1st place along the loom & look at the connector for anything unusual.

Engine shuts down after driving about 20 miles let cool down for 10 min. and it will go again


You didn't say whether or not the car is running hot so I'm guessing here. If it is running hot then the temp switch could shut it down for obvious reasons. So could the oil pressure switch. The oil pressure switch will shut your engine down if the oil pressure drops below a certain point. This is caused by lack of oil pressure. Lack of oil pressure can be caused by low oil level, weak oil pump or oil too thin to lubricate. If the engine is running hot that can thin out the oil to the point of no use to the engine. If you have a high mileage engine and are still using 5W30, 10W30 oil then try upgrading to 10W40, 15W40 or even 20W50.

Your engine could be running lean which would create a hot situation that would cool fairly quickly. If this isn't adressed you can look at catastrophic engine failure in your future.

You could also be looking at an internal problem such as warped heads, bad head gasket, worn out oil pump.

If it was my car, I would be taking to someone to find out the exact reason it is doing this. I would likely take it home and fix it myself but I think you should have a professional diagnose this more accurately. Hope this helps.

Your car has a temperature senser and as soon as the temperature is above a certain level the engine fails as a way of safety. its a safety control switch . First start the engine when it is cool and then check the performance of the fan. Is the generating enough air to cool the engine.as it is running check the temperature gauge i the car and see the level . It could be the fan not providing enough air cool the engine.

Sounds like your temperature sensor has gone bad. It's not an easy fix by any means, and that should only be done by a professional mechanic. Hope this helps.
