Portable Battery Time

How long will a New Fully Charged Smartbook 7 last on battery power?

  • Jerome Rosenfeld Jul 17, 2013

Okay. But the problem with mine is it will not keep a full charge for more than 30 minutes after fully recharged?

  • Jerome Rosenfeld Jul 17, 2013

Since the battery cover on the Smartbook is secured by a pair of screws, how can one replace the battery if that is trhe problem why it will not keep a full charge more then 30 minutes?

Probably around 4-6 hours, depends on how much you use it and the setting about power save.

Can only use it a few minute before the battery drains. Does not keep charge

After fully charged battery power lasted about 20 minutes.

Since it's brand new, return it. You didn't say what type of tablet it is, but they should last for many hours on a charge.

Taking Care Of Your Laptop Battery

  1. Normally, a new battery pack comes in a very low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. Refer to the user manual of your portable electronic equipment for charging instructions.
  2. A new Dell Vostro A860 Battery needs to be fully charged and fully discharged or “cycled” as much as five times to condition them into performing at full capacity.
  3. Your equipment may report a fully charge condition in as short as 10 to 15 minutes when the new Dell Vostro 1015 Battery is being charged for the first time. This is a normal phenomenon especially for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) chemistries. When this happens, remove the dell vostro 1015 battery pack and let it cool down for about fifteen minutes then repeat the charging procedure.
  4. “Conditioning” (fully discharging and then fully charging) is necessary so as to maintain the optimum performance of a sony vgp-bps8 battery, and is recommended at least once a month particularly for Ni-Cad and Ni-MH batteries. Failure to do so could result in reduced charge capacity and can significantly shorten the sony vaio vgn-fz battery pack’s useful life. Lithium Ion batteries do not require conditioning.
  5. It is normal for a acer aspire 1410 battery pack to get warm when charging and during use. However, if the acer aspire 1410 battery pack gets excessive hot, there may be a problem with the portable electronic equipment’s charging circuit and should therefore be checked by a qualified technician.
  6. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused for long periods of time. This is normal particularly in the case of Ni-MH and Li-Ion chemistries. For best results, always store a battery pack fully charged. It should be removed from the equipment and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.
  7. The amount of runtime a hp 510 battery produces depends on the power requirements of components in your electronic equipment. This could be the hard drive setting, screen intensity and back-lighting on notebook computers, the liquid crystal display (LCD) screen and floodlight feature in a video camcorder, or the tri-mode communications network of a cellular phone. Always refer to your equipment’s user manual for power management settings.

I purchase s10-3 netbook. i had problem with its battery which only runs 2 hours if it is fully charged. please assist!

How long have you been using the netbook? If it's brand new, then your battery life is too short. First of all, remember the following for ensuring that your battery performance is optimal:
1. A new battery pack must be fully charged before it is put into use.
2. A new battery pack needs to be fully charged and discharged a few times before it starts performing at full capacity.
3. Batteries discharge when left unused. If you intend to store the netbook for a while, make sure that the battery is fully charged before you do so.
4. Fully drain and fully recharge your batteries every few months.

If your netbook is new, then try one or more of the following and see how your battery performance gets affected: 1. Turn down the LCD brightness of your portable device.
2. Use built-in power management on your portable device.
3. Turn off LCD or other unnecessary accessories when not in use.
4. Set screen saver blank to 1 to 2 minutes of your netbook.
5.. Add more RAM if you can, as this will reduce the usage of the hard drive which exhausts the power quicker.

Hope this helps.

My battery life lasts 1 1/2 hur. i was told it will last up to 7hurs. how can i fix that. it's a 6 cell battery and it's fully charged. Thank you.

I've rarely seen a 7 hours battery capabality for laptops (seen it ownly in notebooks), normaly they last at the most 4 to 5 h. with laptop running in minimal performance mode...

how old is the battery? if it's new it should last aproximately the time of the specified ratings in the laptop's normal use (according to it's manual) if not it could be defective ask for exchange

if it's an old battery you could try to refresh it by draining it down COMPLETELY and charging it back several times (5 to 10 time)

the best way to drain it completely is to boot in to the BIOS (on battery power) and let it drain untill the computer shutt's off, than re-charge, and so on...

Good luck!

Hello, After fully charging my mother's Jazzy power chair overnight, the rear battery indicator/pointer shows zero meaning it's fully charged. I leave it unplugged all day and then by 5pm when I check...

Sorry but it sounds like weak batteries. I would replace both batteries and after installation fully charge before use. Then ask Mom to use the chair more each day so you can charge them overnight each day for the next 20 days. It will break in the batteries and get them operating at 100%. If you can get her to use it more and charge it overnite and always put it up at full charge the batteries should last 2-3 years Hope this helps

No power with a brand new battery, not even ignition lights

Did you check your brand new battery? Fully charged? Hydro was good? You are connected properly ( + = + and - = - ) Do a volt check yourselg between + and - (frame)

If yes to all, Id be looking at the ignition switch.

Charged battery only lasts 30 minutes

Try fully draining the battery and recharging it fully. If that does not work chances are the battery is going bad. How old is the dvd player ? If its still under warranty you might be able to get a replacement.
