Spoon rests are made of different materials like wood, plastic, glass and ceramics. I personally believe the worst to be wood because it absorbs very easily any liquid and never really gets cleaned well. Plastic also absorbs, even tho much less than wood, and is much easier to clean. But, like wood, will probably retain the odors.
The best option I believe is ceramics, because is more commonly found than glass spoon rests, and is strong, easy to wash and doesn't absorb odors.

Where can I get best gift collections for Christmas?

There are a variety of gifts available on several sites on the Internet. You can buy it according to your choice.
I always prefer to buy it from JollyGood site, I think they carry a good collection of gifts, decoration material and Christmas Lights with them.
You can get some unique gifts like Fork and spoon collection or Trendy Christmas toilet seat covers. Other than this, they also provide good collections of lights and candles.

How many grams are in 1/2 tablespoons(tbsp.)?

You answered your own question!

Yes, there in inequality in the world. Your good old Aussie measuring spoons used for stirring your tea, as just that, an implement for stirring tea. Measurement wise, they are based on UK spoons, because you all came from the UK in the early days of colonisation.

The Americans, did things their way and used the 'Cup' as a measure, because in the cowboy days, everyone on a wagon train had a mug or a cup. If the whole recipe is in Cups, it doesn't matter if the cup is the size of an elegant coffee cup, or a 1 pint enamel mug, because the ratio was always the same.

The best way is electronic scales and measure in quarter grams.

Why do i need a trivet instead of a wet towel?

Trivets are made of temperature regulating materials which prevent the burning or ruining of the surface where the dish/pan/pot is placed. A wet towel, instead, will easily transfer heat thru the water in it and heat up very quickly at contact with a hot surface or object, consequently burning anything it touches. Never grab a hot pot or dish from the oven with a wet towel!
