a 6ya Repairman can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Repairman (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Remove needleplate and clean out the built up lint between the teeth of the feeddogs.
When moveng from Feed Down to Up, rotate handwheel one revolution to re-engage.
If neither is a problem and your manual is of no assistance, take it to a service centre to check it out and quote.

Set the tension control at mid-range and raise the presser foot.
Make sure the thread is not caught on the spool cap or wrapped around the spool pin.
If the problem is not at the spool, and you still cannot get the thread though with the presser foot up - there may be an internal jam.
Open the tension (set at zero), and with the presser foot up, try to pull through a heavier thread - don't tug, you just want to "floss".
If you can't pull the thread though by hand, you will need to take the machine in for service.
If you try to open the enclosed threading area, you may not get everything back as it should be and it will still need to go into the shop.
