Printer will print pictures, but won't print documents.

Start by uninstalling the printer software... then re-install the newest software from the HP website. Always works for me...

Use the software that was installed when you installed your printer to clean your print heads.

Firstly two things here assuming everything is fine with your printer.

Firstly have you changed the options in the document or picture youre trying to print? For example, if printing a document from Word, go to printing options and click advanced then print in 'black/white' rather than 'color'.

Secondly when you installed the ink cartridge in the printer, have you removed the plastic/paper sticker attached which protects the circuits and ink leakages?

The Ink at the head of your Printer Cartridges has dried up.
Try this:

Load some plain paper in the printer

Remove the cartridges from the printer and carefully dab the print heads of the cartridges with a damp paper towel. ( when you start to see ink, the ink is starting to flow).

Replace the cartridges into the printer.

Go to:

Start
Control Panel
Printers
RIGHT click on this printer
choose Printing preferences
services
clean print cartridges 9some papers may print)
follow the instructions and do the heavier cleaning as well

Run the calibration function and allow the paper to print.

how did the paper exit inot your pritner? Its act like printing or its fast and smooth? If its act like printing you just need to clean the printhead or if cleaning printhead did not solve the issue you need a printhead replacement, Now if the paper exit in your printer fast and smooth you need to replace the printer and the printhead., You need to call kodak for support toll free 1 800 421 6699 ext 05., The troubleshooting may apply also for blank documents using word or any other application.,

Now put out u color cartridge and take one tissue paper or toilet paper then put ink color head to paper(soft pressure).after that see u paper are inside show three color appear in paper????(red,yellow and blue).if all have means you cartridge ok if only same or no any coming out means u color ink problem need to replaced new unit.

if got all color out better u open u printer body and check are all cable u plug in back is correct or wrong position??.second u can try go to printer preferences go to find print out in color or in gray-color and change their setting to print out in color

Have you changed the ink cartrage? Could simply be out of ink.
Check your last printed item. See if it is getting lighter toward the end of the document.

Simply pull all the paper out, cancel all printing documents and then print the document (without putting the paper back) and if it comes up with the error that there is no paper than there is no jam and putting the paper back should be fine, however to be on the safe side try printing at first with one piece of paper for the first sheet then put a buch slowly adding to the pile per page utnil all the paper has been put back.

with a wet paper clean up the head of the cartridge, and let some tint go to the napkin, or paper :) Resulted for me
