My 2001 odyssey radio and gps were working fine...then my belt for ac,alternator shredded..now my radio/gps does not work..when lights are turned on the radio/gps lights around the perimeter, but no display...

Enter the security code in the radio. The code is a 5 digit number and should be written in the owner's manual or on a little label inside the glove box. If it still doesn't work after entering the code, check the fuses.

My Fishfinder 300C suddeny does not detect the depht anymore, all oher function are still working, please help!

Hello
First do this. From the Home screen, Seelct Full Screen > Menu > range. Use ROCKER to set the depth scale, and see whether the depth is displayed or not. If not check the transducer for fault. Check for voltage goint to it.
Use a test light or voltmeter to determine the polarity of the voltage source.
Connect the red (+ or positive) wire to the positive voltage terminal.

If you use the fuse block on the boat, route the positive connection
through the fuse
Connect the black (- or ground) wire to the negative voltage terminal.
Install or check the 3A fuse (on the fuse block or in the in-line holder).

Align the notches on the cable plug and on the back of the Fishfinder 300C. Insert the cable into the connector, and turn the locking ring
counter-clockwise until it stops.
If htese all are correct and voltage is there at the tranducer end, the tranducer is faulty, and should be replaced. OK

I've borrowed a friend's Garmin for a trip and when I use the car charger, it doesn't display anything. Once I disconnect, it becomes visible again. I'm going on a long trip and worry. ...

Assuming there is power at the cigarette lighter jack - turn the Nuvi off - then connect the charger. It should display charging battery or charging complete.
If nothing - does it charge with the wall charger? If so check the fuse in the car charger - it's usually in the tip of the charger which can be turned to get the fuse out.

Good-day. As I started my car my Garmin Nuvi 205W switched on and then off. I tried to switch it on using the manual switch-no luck. It is normally connected to the charger and switches on automatically...

its possible that the fuse is burnd it could be the fuse on the cable that connect to the GPS or the fuse inside the GPS check the fuse box or follow the bable that goes from the gps inside the car

Garmin street pilot 330 charging problem

Linda,

You need to check the fuse for both the car's cigar lighter AND the one in the GPS power plug (that goes into the cigar lighter outlet). Both must be good for the GPS to charge and power up.

I don't know if your friends cord worked in you car - or hers - so you're going to have to find out if it is the cord fuse or the car fuse. Since her cord worked on your GPS, start by using HER CORD connected to YOUR GPS in both cars. If it works in her car, but not in yours, check & replace your car's cigar lighter fuse. If or when it works in both cars, disconnect her cable and connect your cable to your GPS again. Connect into your cigar lighter. If it works, you're done. If it doesn't work, disassemble the plug at the end of the GPS cord (cigar lighter end) and check and replace the fuse if blown. You should be good to go at this point.

Please rate this reply if found to be helpful - good luck!

Garmin fishfinder 160 blue . no powerup

I have a 160 blue also, and this morning I had the same problem. I called tech support while I was out on the water but no help. When I got home I double checked my connections on the battery minder/selector and the fuse panel. My GPS worked fine but the FF only beeped, like it had low power and the display wouldnt come up. It came up once for about a second and then faded earlier on the water. I pulled the power and ground connections from the fuse block and put them directly on the battery, it came right up. I now run the FF wired straight to the single battery and the GPS and other items on my other battery.

Hope it helps.

Wiring of seatalk instruments

OK, you are confused. Seatalk is a bus system, using 3 wires , (power +, power-, and Data.) red, bare and yellow repectively. So Red and Bare are 12V and ground. Since the 125 shows a green light, it is getting power and outputting data. but is it seatalk?? to make a 125 Seatalk, you must hook red and green together to 12 V, so check that first. if green is grounded or not connected, that is the problem (or one of them)
Next divide system to its' simplest terms, so hook the GPS straight to the display ST60, and see if it works red to rd, yell to yell and bare to bare (sometimes black) One by one hook the others into the chain until they all work or failed device takes down Seatalk network. If you are missing 12V on a seatalk leg, check 5A fuse in course computer. If you have a pilot, you have a course computer, unless it is ST4000 wheel pilot, and then the brain is the display (course computer is built in to ST4000 display)

GARMIN STREET PILOT-330 GPS

Hello KTFORE1,

The Street Pilot 330 comes with both a vehicle power cord and a USB cord for connecting the unit to the computer. If I understand you correctly the GPS isn't getting power from the vehicle power cord. Does the GPS charge if connected to a computer using the USB cable? If so the problem is likely the power cord or cigarette lighter socket you are using. If the GPS doesn't charge from USB port on your computer then the problem is likely the GPS itself.

If you determine that the cable is the source of the problem, check and replace the cable's fuse. You will probably also want to check and replace your vehicle fuses as the circuit that powers the cigarette lighter might have a blown fuse. If replacing the fuses doesn't solve the issue then you might need to replace the power cord.

Best Regards.
Ken
