I have tried connecting to another monitor already and the same problem arises. Also... I checked the video card and all the cables as well.

  • dknapp1 Aug 28, 2007

I do not ever see anything on the monitor nor do I hear any beeps

  • dknapp1 Aug 28, 2007

By the way, I have an on board video card. Would it be possible to add another video card and connect my monitor to that?

  • dknapp1 Aug 30, 2007

    Still need help!!

  • dknapp1 Aug 30, 2007

I cannot remove the onboard video card. However, I did install a new video card and still have a black screen and no beeps.

Remove RAM memory - does computer beep?

If not then CPU/mainboard/ PSU is dead.

If it does beep then CPU is working.

If you have tried another monitor then your down to the problem being your video card or computer. Is this the first time using this video card? If so, try removing it and using the one you had in before hand. Once your back into the computer, check to see if there is a driver update for your video card.

What ya need to do is isolate your problem.. you need to see if your monitor is faulty OR ya PC.. OR both? ... So, test your Monitor on another PC... see if it works OK... Try another Monitor on your PC and see if it works... I think it is possible ya may find that it is your Monitor that is faulty and NOT ya PC itself.. but by doing what I described you at least will be able to isolate where your problem(s)? are. Which will dictate the steps that must be undertaken from that point to effect repair.

Well done on ya troublshooting so far...

well as Valiis so wisely says, well the Video card must be next in line to check... if ya do have onboard video, old working card, then yup go back to that .... see if ya can "Boot" if yes... well then ya card may indeed be faulty.. OR maybe it's Driver related.. less likely.

Are ya sure ya Power Supply is OK? ..see if ya Fan is going..

Do you see anything ever on monitor?

Do you hear any "Beeps" during attempted Boot?

  • electronic & computer repair& servicre

Yes you can add another video card no problem, simply remove old, insert new, hopefully boot to windows.. windows will ask for New Video Card "Drivers", so point them to the driver CD or files and install, reboot... & ya should be all good

  • electronic & computer repair& servicre

OK you must disable the ONBOARD Video card in the BIOS... Try that.. if that don't work.. then maybe I think ya have a Faulty "Motherboard" .... The only "Other" thing maybe the RAM, ya may wanna try replacing that.. a bit of a long shot tho...?

Also had this issue on the Touchsmart IQ526. Removed the CMOS battery, waited some minutes, then powered on. The power button remained blue and had video again. Reinserted the CMOS battery and put the unit back together. Note - the battery was on the mainboard.

I switch on my PC, ensuring that all cables, leads and power supplies are connected properly. The tower powers up no problems at all. I switch the screen on, the green led lights up, the screen is completely black. A blue box appears centrally on the screen with the text 'power saving mode'. The green led light turns amber and then the screen just goes black.

Please don't suggest going to control panel, as I can't get that far.

PLEASE PLEASE CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING give me

The moniter blacked out, blue light is saying the moniter is still on, but screen looks like there is no power. When you turn on the moniter, the screen shows up for a few seconds, then blacks out again!...

Unplug power. Unplug VGA cable. Remove back of monitor. (four small Philips headed screws along the bottom rear. Remove screws attaching Monitor to it's base. Carefully, lean the screen away from back of case. Gently unplug 25 pin cable from the screen.
Connect AC power.
Screen should power on Gray to White. Ble light comes on Blue.Flickers then changes to Amber.
Reconnect VGA cable. Monitor should work.
Close up the monitor in reverse order to opening it.
If these steps don't solve your monitor, consider replacing as cost of repairs may shock you.

My AOC screen goes black after about a few seconds after booting.

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after few seconds and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer or service center within your vicinity to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Monitor Screen goes black every few seconds!

Check the capacitors on your monitors circuit board. If they have opened up at the top, they are fried. Buy new ones, make sure nothing has leaked from the old ones, and replace them.

tricky!! oh hi im Dyanne.. a totally unresponsive black screen can be th result of failure of th LCD or LCD inverter.( a specialized piece of electronics that energize th screen) to rule out th failure of th video display adapter or circuitry, try plugging in an external monitor..a standard pc monitor.. attached direct to th lappy. if it works, (as i susopect) th motherboard and video display are both working ok and its th LCD which is at fault. this can sometimes be repaired by a competent specialist. good luck xx
