Sounds like the water valve has a small leak and continuously drips water onto the icemaker.  Have the water valve checked and if necessary, replaced.

If there is a reset button on your ice maker try pushing it. Many ice makers have two holes for reset. A general rule of thumb is if the ice maker fingers are stopped in a slightly vertical position then your ice maker unit is working. If the fingers are stopped anywhere else then it needs some sort of attention or replaced. Make sure there is water, or ice in the ice maker tray, if not then the problem is with water supply.

SOURCE: Ice maker sprays water...

sounds like the inlet part on the ice maker is froze over or not lined up in the opening of it right or a possibilty that the ice maker is leaking out the water if that is the case the ice maker needs replaced

Samsung side by side ice maker not working

You have 2 separate valves, 1 for the water dispenser and 1 for the ice maker. (otherwise your ice maker would overflow every time you got water from the dispenser and your dispenser would flow every time the ice maker went to refill.) They are fed from the same tubing.

The cube/crushed ice motor is completely separate from the ice maker itself and should have absolutely no bearing on the water flow.

You have narrowed down the problem quite nicely to the ice maker water valve. There is one more thing to check though, the connector. There should be a multi-contact connector from the ice maker to the back wall of the freezer, usually 6-9 wires. Pull that apart and check the cord side (ice maker side) for any corrosion. BE CAREFUL NOT TO TOUCH THE OTHER SIDE AS THERE IS LIVE 110V!!! If you don't see any corrosion, still try try disconnecting and reconnecting 5-10 times and see if that solves your problem. If you see corrosion, unplug the refrigerator before working on the back wall part of the connector. [This connector besides powering the ice maker also allows the ice maker to control the water valve which can't be inside the freezer]

Why won't the water come out of the in-door water dispenser? Why won't my ice maker make ice?

Be thoughtful of any water leaks. Water leaking beneath the machine will damage floors.

If both the ice maker and water dispenser are not working it is likely the feed connection from the wall to the unit. The hose/ copper tube can get kinked or the valve at the connection at the wall internally plugged. Close off the water at the wall and using a catch remove the connection at the unit open the valve at the wall and confirm the that water flows freely through.

Check the filter of the water located usually at the front grill near the floor. If the filter is removed the water connection will buipass the filter.

It is not likely with both the ice maker and water dispensor that both electrical solenoid valves have failed.

Ice maker isn't working. Water is not filling the tray but the water dispenser in the door works fine.

could be frozen water fill tube to Icemaker. or solenoid water valve is not opening when ice maker calls for ice. there are 2 separate solenoid valves : one for dispenser another one for ice maker.

Water dispenser running slowly

Hello Cynthia;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

You have a water pressure problem. You need at least 60 PSI water pressure to open the solenoid valves. I suspect you are getting small ice cubes.

If you have well water you are not going to get the pressure for fully dispenser flow.

I have experienced bad water filters. One time our techs received a large shipment of bad water filters. Remove the water filter and test the water dispenser.

With low water pressure you may not want to use a water filter

The fan at back does not come on. The fridge make a clicking noise, The fan tries to run... Also it does not pump water anymore. It does make ice

Ice dispenser doesn't work
  1. Dispenser control board
If the ice dispenser is not functioning at all the most likely cause is going to be the dispenser control board. The dispenser control board governs the major portion of the systematic functions of the dispenser and is less likely to be the issue if only certain components are malfunctioning. If the dispenser control board is at fault, it will need to be replaced.
  1. Water inlet valve & low water pressure from house supply
If the ice dispenser on your refrigerator is not working properly, one of the first things to consider as an issue is the water pressure to your appliance. The ice dispenser cannot properly function with a psi less than 20. If psi is appropriate, proceed to replace the water inlet valve to correct the issue. You may also be dealing with low household water pressure. This low flow can be examined by using a water pressure test gauge. Once the household water pressure is resolved, you can double check your refrigerator connection to ensure it is now flowing properly and that the ice dispenser is functioning.
  1. Water tube in door is frozen
If the ice dispenser is not working on your refrigerator, the issue could be a frozen water supply tube located in the door. Although this may be a tricky problem to locate, the first thing to do is find a connection point in the tube. After this has been found, attempt to blow air through the tube. If the air flows freely through the tube, it is not frozen and this is not the issue. If it does not, the tube is frozen and needs to be removed to thaw out. As it thaws, attempt to ascertain why it froze and correct the positioning of the tubing to prevent the issue from occurring again in the future.
  1. Dispenser switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working properly you could be dealing with a defective dispenser switch. Activated by the dispenser actuator, the switches are responsible for numerous actions including ice cube disbursement, type of ice, and water controls. The switch can be tested using an ohm meter and should be replaced if it does not reveal continuity.
  1. Door switch
If the refrigerator ice dispenser is not working, the functionality of the door switch can be inspected. This switch is responsible for turning on the light in the freezer and simultaneously turning off the ice dispenser when the freezer door is opened. If this switch malfunctions, it will show no continuity on the ohm meter and will require replacement.
Ice maker not functioning or producing ice cubes
  1. Check connections
Check all hose connections to ensure that water is being transmitted through your appliance and there is no frost build up.
  1. Feeler arm
Double check to make sure your feeler arm is not stuck or that ice cubes are not blocking the feeler arm's motion to produce more ice.
  1. Ice maker heater
The heater may be stuck on. The heater comes on for 1-2 minutes to break cubes free from mold. If the heater stays on too long ,the ice maker will get hot and stop making ice. Carefully feel around the ice maker mold; if it is hot to the touch, the heater is on. This indicates that the ice maker is jammed, and it is better to replace ice maker than to try and repair it.
  1. Water inlet valve
The water valve supplying the ice maker is a key component of the ice-making system. When the ice maker calls for ice, its switch closes an electrical circuit and energizes the solenoid-operated water valve. This allows water to flow through the valve and into the ice cube tray. The water is frozen into cubes, and the cubes are dumped into the ice bin. When this part is not operating correctly, a repair/replacement part may be needed. Water does not stop pouring from water/ice dispenser. Door-to-door GE Profile Refrigerator Model TFX22PPDACC. How to troubleshoot the problem? Or what part need to be replaced?

With the water running tube/pipe is cracked in between or its got loose from its fitting.First inspect the line for this problem. The tube from which water passes, one end is connected to the water valve at the back base of refrigerator. And then from valve two tube runs. One tube is for water dispenser and another tube is for ice chamber filling.Follow that tube from back of the refrigerator. The water dispenser tube That passes through the freezer door also. And the ice maker tube. That connects to the back of ice maker tray. The water fills in the tray.See if that tube is got loose and its not throwing water out instead of ice maker tray. Many a times this happens.--- May be you need to remove the ice maker to get exact location for tube setting and position.----------- But if tubes from water and ice dispenser sections are fitted properly and then there can be crack in the tube.------------But if tubes checked out ok then other possibility can be faulty water fill grommet.------- The grommet is cracked. And that is causing the leak.--------- Go to the back of the unit and remove the cover at the lower right of the unit. This is where the water line goes into your unit. Remove the water line at the solinoid that goes to your ice maker . This will allow you enough slack to remove the old water fill tube and replace it with the new one.
You need to push the white retainers in to release the tubeing from the solenoids.
The part you need is called fill tube grommet. It has to be removed and replaced. The tube is connected to the grommet. Click this link below for more help:---
------------ The other possibility for this leak, is water valve. The water valve close and open. When its open, it lets water to the tube. When it closes it stops water. But if the valve is not closing then it will let the water to enter non stop, slowly --- slowly the inside tube getw over filled and then starts leaking.------------ The water valve is not required as per the problem. But if after doing all the repairing, still the same problem, noticed then water valve is required.Because is water valve is not closing properly, then it leaks some water, (drop by drop) and this can cause water to collect in the grommet and this gets formed into ice and the same leaking repeats.---------but at present dont buy water valve.Just keep an eye on this same problem.sometimes leaking will start after few days.In that case also replace water vale.------- Now for other parts, that are extension hose, icemaker tube and clamp.Out of this you will require clamps, sometimes while removing old tube the clamp gets can buy this. The extension hose is required if the tube is getting short or actual hose is cracked in between.i dont think you will require extension hose at present. And for ice maker tube. This tube can also be cracked and cause leak.this tubes by time gets bit swollen and loose its grip. Its actually not required. But if you still replace it, that it will be good.--------so you can order clamp and icemaker tube with the grommet part.----------- The parts which you want to order, this is direct link for parts:-- 1. Dual Inlet Water Valve------------ (
2. Icemaker Water Line ----------
3. Icemaker Fill Hose Extension ----------

A fill tube clamp for the fill tube grommet----------------
( ----------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.
