I tried to reset it but it did not work. I have shipped the GPS back for a replace.
Thanks for trying to help. When I get the new GPS I will start with updating the software as described.

Hi,

Yes you have to hook up the red wires together to the + and both black ones to the negative, otherwise the antenna won't be supply in current , and don't forget to insert behind the red wire a fuse and a switch to avoid to discharge your battery .

SOURCE: installation furuno GP7000F/NT

This unit has built in sonar, so no DFF1 is required. The 1KW transom mount is in stock here, with the proper Furuno 10 pin connector. That is all you need, the display, the power cord, the GPS antenna, the transducer and THE BOOK! We are a Furuno dealer in the Great Lakes

you must run 50KHz for deep water, so you will have to solve the interference problem to benefit from the power

Have you followed the correct testing procedure? The one from here?

http://www.lowrance.com/en/Support/Product-Support/Troubleshooting-Guide/GPS-Module-Not-Responding/

If yes and it failed then the firmware is corrupted. Since you are no longer able to boot you will not be capable of fixing it yourself - the unit must be dismantled, the firmware chip accessed directly at hardware level and rewritten with a new firmware. This is a job only the main service shop of a dealer can do, you will have to send it to them.
If your unit is out of warranty you should call them before that, otherwise you might find out that it would have been cheaper just to discard this one and buy a brand new unit.

1982 55 yamaha outboard ,water not coming out the water pump hole in strenght

First thing to check: Disconnect the tiny hose between the check outlet and the engine. Disconnect it at the engine side.
With an airgun, blow in the check hole from outside to engine side.
With an airgun, blow out the engine connection.
Start the engine, check waterflow out of the engine connector. If water, reconnect the hose and check the water at the checkpoint.
If still no water at the engine connection: replace the impeller!

Yamaha 4HP outboard - cannot pull starter cord - jammed.

Engine or gearcase seized...
Remove the recoil starter ( 3 bolts and the startingear link)
If you can turn the flywheel slightly: Gearcase seized
If you can't turn the flywheel at all: Engine seized.
In both cases: If you can't disassemble and have the job done yourself, forget that motor...
