Me dell latitude e 5400 works when the power cord is pluged in but it wont charge the battery. battery status says it on line , critical , and says it has 3% left

Well, It seems you have a bad battery, try to buy a new one, and make sure you leave this new battery charging for at least 12 hours, If your laptop is still under warranty check if dell can give you a new one.

Have a nice day.

Whenever my dell latitude 5400 is running on battery it keeps freezing but on power it is working fine. when it runs on battery then no process is smooth like when am mouse repointing mouse from one place...

The first thing we need to do is to swap another working battery with the existing one and see if the issue re-occurs. I suspect it to be a faulty battery.

Replacement hdd for a Toshiba MK4026GAX (ATA)

Any brand-new ATA hard-drive (you probably won't find any new hard-drive smaller than 80GB) will be compatible. Pay a few extra dollars for a 7200 RPM drive (rather than 4200 or 5400 RPM).
