Powers off when online

While online, usually while listening to music but also on IM, my daughter's laptop will act like a cd that is scratched - skipping, repeating, etc. - and then will power off. She has to unplug and replug in the power source (either the cord or the battery) in order to turn it on again. Any ideas as to the problem?

Re: powers off when online

Hi, If I may add to legna's solution, a similar problem on a Satellite A35-S209, cause was traced to the battery not fully charged (or will no longer hold a full charge because of age) and the AC adapter not capable of supplying enough power with the WiFi running at full power. Things I tried (or wanted to) were: 1. run the wifi at lower but sufficient power only to get a decent connection (less drain on the battery); 2. replace the battery; and/or 3. run the AC adapter continuously and charge the battery overnight always. Hope this be of help/idea. Post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

Virus Alert!! Do you have an anti virus up to date and running. Do a deep scanning of the system if this problem only happens when on line it may be a Trojan virus they mess up your computer because they need you to be on line to be effective even listening to music is risky most players need to connect to the internet for all type of reasons. Now the problem with most anti virus softwares do not pick some of the ticks in your PC so try this one it has never let me down and is free:

My compaq presario cq60 will run music cds but will not run Sims 3 disk. It makes clicking noises but will not run it.

Hi. Try to check the sims 3 cd if it has any scratches, if it has check this website (click here) on how to remove those scratches. If the cd is irreparable, you can download the game online using EA download manager. Have you tried to register your game to EA website? If you not follow these steps:
1. Open EA download manager (if you don't have that program download it from this site) 2. Click "Register" 3. Find the game you want to register in your case that would be "SIMS 3" 4. It will ask for your registration code which can be find in the booklet inside the cd case. 5. When your done with the registration, click "log in". 6. The program will then show you the game that you have registered and you can now "download" it.
I hope this helps. Have a nice day!

Cant record online music. System only shows microphones not recording devices

They don't allow you to record online music. Seems like it should be easy to do, but it's because of copyright laws. The musicians/singers want to get paid. You can go to many websites and listen to the songs before you download your favorite songs for a buck a song. Pretty cheap actually when you consider you usually only find one or two good songs on an album that costs $12. Once you download it you have your own copy to burn to a CD. You can find all your favorites online. If you have songs already on CD you can copy them to your computer and make a CD of your favorites! Good luck

Audio Distortion after System Crash

sorry for the late reply. im using windows. im quite sure that there's no virus involved with the distortion of my sound. this is what happened.

1. im surfing the net while listening to music(full volume)
2.)then suddenly the sound gets a bit distorted(jumps, skips)
3.)then everything hangs up which forced me to reboot
4.)the windows loading screen became too long(like 5mins) before it takes me to the main desktop(start up programs loads like 48 years also).
5.)when i play music ,the sound is very much(like alien,"rrrrrrr")

i tried reinstalling the drivers but nothing was fixed. i've even tried Regcure.

i just formatted my notebook and voila its back to normal.
i dunno but i think playing loud music using laptop, or in my case notebook speakers would cause this problem. im using external speakers now and i've got no problems. i just hope that there would be a fix to this problem so that i wont have to reformat if the problem occurs again

Music cd's are not recognized by my computers D: drive

Are you sure that you have a cd drive? It could be that it is only a dvd drive. It could also be that the cd has a scratch or is unreadable.

Can't hear any sound from the internet

Some media player plugins have their own volume control, separate from the one in the task bar.

Check the volume settings there.
