SOURCE: How can I power a Sennheiser MKH 110?

Hi bibiofi

If you havent any experience with build electronic circuits, or soldering and the like, I suggest getting on of these. It runs of 2 9volt batts, or mains supply. Is the easiest way to go, and in reality, by the time you bought a decent case, sockets, and bits and peices to build one, you could get this one for $50. Too easy. I CAN build the stuff, but I would go this way. Plus it allows you to use 2 condensors if you want. And it does have the T-power 12 volt supply that the mic requires for operation. Is you need more info, please just ask. cheers

How should I connect an ATM73a headset to a sennheiser SK300

Audio Technica and Sennheiser each have proprietary connectors for their mics. A lot of times the mics require Phantom power which is drawn from the battery of the pack. This is important as the mic will need to be wired correctly to function.
The first thing you will need is the correct plug from the company. Check with Sennheiser customer Support for the correct part. If you aren't extremely good at soldering, do not attempt this. You can change the plug but the wires are extremely delicate and can short easily. Moreover because of the phantom power, the plug must be wired correctly for the mic to function, or you may end up damaging the mic by sending phantom power up the wrong line. I would advise having a music store or pro audio service that handles these products do the wiring for you. If you feel you are up to it, you can do it yourself, but be careful.

How do I change the water temperature setting? We have two bathrooms and the one closest one to the water heater does not get hardly any hot water to the shower. How can I fix this problem? The other...

Hello mkh....Changing the water temperature setting is not difficult. Go to the hot water tank and you will see the temperature setting knob. Sometimes it is down low and other times it is behind a small door which you can open or sometimes even have to remove a screw or two to get to. Make a small change in the upward direction and see if that solves it for you. Chances are the 2nd bathroom is further from the water heater and is loosing heat along the supply pipe. Consider insulating that pipe if it is out in the open. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

The 416 is inherently hissy. Does anyone know the rough frequency of this hiss so I can notch it out in post?

you might be better off increasing the pre amp gain before notching out frequencies. The area of hiss will be in the area of 5k to 8k which will harm the sound of your vocal recordings as that is also the area of clarity and intelligibility. Try the Triton Audio FetHead that will fix it for you. linkd is here: http://www.zenproaudio.com/tritonaudiofethead.aspx

Dropped sennheiser mkh-60 p48 in water

Hi,
Wow, nice mic, I hope it survived.
If the mic wasn't powered on when dropped into the water, you may have a better chance, but even still, if may have survived. How pure was the water? If normal drinking water, just open it up as much as you safely can, and give it a day or two to dry out THOROUGHLY, inspect for any signs of corrosion, put it back together and try it.
If it was something akin to pond water, or salt water, or a swimming pool, IMMEDIATELY open it up as much as you safely can, and flush it with as pure and as filtered water as you can. Again, give it a day or two to dry thoroughly, inspect for any signs of corrosion, put it back together and try it.
If it doesn't behave normally, contact Sennheiser for advice, and perhaps they can better help with cleaning, or maybe you can just get by with having the element replaced, etc.
good luck!
