The leak could be in the pump itself. How is the rest of the pump, is it worn. If everything is OK then you have a leak in the suction side.

Pressure is not a good indicator of water pump operation. Pressure in the cooling system comes from the heating of the water and its expansion. Jettas come from the factory with plastic impellers on their water pumps. These have a tendency to break and fail, causing overheating issues. Most aftermarket pumps have metal impellers to prevent this from happening. I would seriously consider having the water pump replaced, especially if it is original and you have more than say 60K miles on the car. It's due for a change anyway and may save you your engine. See what this guy had to say about his Jetta.....

My radiator hose popped off today iput it on and my car still over heats

You may have an air pocket with no fluid. This would cause over heating. If you have a recovery tank, it is better to add fluid thru there and not directly in radiator neck.

Our centurion pool pump motor Model B128 replaced less than 1 year ago. Pool company has to replace the impeller twice. Is this common? I believe the pool co sold and installed a used pump instead

Broken impellers generally are not caused by the pump's motor. Impellers usually fail due to back pressure from the filter when the pump shuts off. Air in the filter is compressed while the motor runs, on your pump 12-15 psi. or a bit higher.

When the motor shuts off that compressed air forces water back to the pump, sometimes with enough force to loosen (or completely throw off) the impeller. If the impeller is loose when the pump starts up again it will instantly re-thread the impeller and strip out the threads.

Check to see if you have a suction leak. After the pump has turned on, bleed the air out from the air relief valve on top of the filter. After the pump has run for a while open the air relief valve and see if air comes out. There should be no air, or just a little.

I have seen this back pressure strong enough to blow the skimmer basket up onto the deck.

What make and model of pump and filter do you have?

Water supply problem. The inlet hose is kinked. The water pressure is to low (10psi) Inlet valve. The inlet water valve filter is clogged. The hall sensor. The impeller of Air guide is bound. Remedy : Check resistance of inlet valve ( 950-1300ohms) Clean valve. Check pressure. Replace the Air braker.

I have a Shasta pool from 1996. I replaced the

either you have an air leak somewhere on the suction side or your impeller is very clogged. you can fill the pump with water and turn it on, it should try to pick up prime, right when it starts to pull in some water turn it off and try to listen for air leaks or water squirting out somewhere on the suction side. Also, remove the pump basket and try to feel the impeller to see it there is any debris in it. the main cause for a clogged impeller is a cracked or broken pump basket. Also, if the pump has run dry for any period of time, the threaded fitting on the suction side of the pump can shrink and cause a large enough air leak to keep the pump from priming.

LG LDF8812ST WONT DRAIN JUST INTERMITTENT BUZZ NOISE

Hi, there may be an obstruction in the pump housing that is causing the motor to freeze or, the impeller may be stripped and , jamming the pump. this will cause the hum you are hearing. the best way to inspect is to , extract the drain pump by, removing
the bottom drain filter housing or sump. manually
move the pump impeller to self it is moving freely. if the impeller is stripped, it will not be able to produce the draining surge necessary to pull the water out.

If the impeller is fine and, there are no obstructions visible, this will confirm pump failure.. replace the pump in this case

Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

My pump pressure is 10psi i cleaned the de filters they seem fine i have good floe out of my jets but when i hook the pool cleaner up pressure drops to almost nothing. could my impeller be the problem

The pressure you are reading is the pressure in the filter tank as water is pumped though it. When the filter is freshly charged, 9 PSI is a good pressure.

As the filter removes particles from the water the filter gets "dirty" -- it takes more pressure to push the water through it thus raising the PSI.

I think you are viewing this in reverse. Low filter pressure is "good" (as long as it stays above 8 PSI) -- as the filter cleans the water the PSI will increase -- when it gets to 15-20 PSI it needs to be back-washed and recharged.

The pressure drops when the pool cleaner is connected because pool cleaners always pull in air (in varying amounts) because of all the hose connections. This causes your filter/tank pressure to drop.

I think the problem could be your thermostat not opening when hot. Turn the heater on full inside the car and check if you are getting hot air from the vents as the engine reach's its normal running tempreture. It should blow hot, if it blows cold then change your thermostat. Also check all the hoses for leeks.
