Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-V40XBR1 Television

Unit will not power up

I have replaced the Power Board to repair what I thought was the problem, the unit when plugged in turns on power/standby light but continues to cycle on and off during the warm up phase and makes a loud click and shuts back off. Screen and fans will activate briefly but seem to also cause the power to cycle off. Entire process lasts 5 sec then starts over?

The lamp may be faulty needs replacement, another culprit is the color wheel when worn out they tend to get stuck and cant spin hence the clicks as tries to spin needs replacement most color wheels come inbuilt in the light engine u will need a tech to replace it and u are good to go remeber the lamp cant turn on if the color wheel is stuck cos its the one that syncrinizes with dmd board which in turn activates the ballast board to fire or light the lamp

Samsung T220hd won't turn back on from standby

Power up issues on the T220HD monitor are caused by a failure of the capacitors on the IP-49135b power supply board that this unit uses. The repair is easy, you just need to replace the 7 failed capacitors and the unit should be as good as new. Here is a link to some information showing what needs to be replaced to repair the power supply board.

I hope this helps.

Marantz receiver standby light blinking

Hello,
Your unit being stuck in standby mode is an indication that its having a power problem. Remove its plug from the wall and fix it back into the wall, then turn it on again. If its still stuck in safe mode, then the power supply board in the unit is the cause of the problem.
The power supply board might be defective and maybe that's why the unit won't power up. Its receiving power but it cannot transfer the current to the necessary part of the unit because a capacitor, diode, etc may have been faulty. Until these bad components are replaced, the unit might not come on.
To actually find out what's wrong, you need to disassemble the unit with a screw driver and check what's wrong. You will be needing a meter in order to test the components on the power board, once you detect any bad component, you can make necessary replacement at any electronics accessories store withing our vicinity. This is the only way by which you can detect the problem.
Of course, testing the power board with a meter will require someone that has the ability. So it you can't, then you might be needing the help of a repairman or you can call a friend that has the ability to help you out.
I wish you the best of luck.....
Regards.

My system is on standby mode how i can fix this problem

Hello,

Your unit being stuck in stand by mode is an indication that its having a power problem. Remove its plug from the wall and fix it back into the wall, then turn it on again. If its still stuck in standby mode, then the power supply board in the unit is the cause of the problem.

Until these bad components are replaced, the unit might not come on.

If you know about electronics repairers, I would suggest that you disassemble the unit and read the power board/panel with a meter, detect the bad component and replace it.

If you don't know about electronic repairs, take the unit to the nearest repairman to fix the fault for you.

I wish you good luck.

Check all electrical connections. If standby light is off when plugged in, probably needs Power Supply board replaced. If standby light is on (Orange/Amber color) may need Power Supply board and or Main Board. If set was shutting down on it's own leading up to it not powering on at all, may need Main Board, and possibly Power Board as well. If standby light has changed from Orange/Amber color to Green, the set IS powered on, and you have an issue other than power.

Problem seems in power supply section at VC-516 (main board). If you know how to open and repair it, just check Fuses at VC-516 board and these are located near connector coming from battery / dc-in jack area. One fuse is open in this case.

The unit will only turn on foe a few sec, due the standby light

Just inside the unit your power cord goes into a blackbox (like a coil of wire) that regulates the actual power the unit recieves, this maybe faulty and needs to be replaced but if this unit is out of warranty this maybe more expencive than a new one, the unit will still stay in standby but when you try to turn it on it draws more power and the supply control won't let it. I have had one of these units that has had the same problem in my work and it proved to dear to repair. Sorry hope this helped. You could try bypassing it but you would probably blow the unit up.

what the problem sounds like is that your power button on ur main deck is broken or its in a standby mode activated by the remote. like some new dvd players that have the click in power button on the front u can turn them off by remote saving having to turn on the whole unit again from the main to use it.
