Question about Weber Spirit? E-310 Propane Grill

Open Question

No gas to burners?

We have a Weber Spirit. Won't light. Tried lighting by hand...still won't light. Tried new tank...still won't light. None of the burners will light and we were wondering if it could be the regulator? If so, what part # is it that we need?

SOURCE: Weber Q 200 goes out after lighting

Using a larger size bottle w/converter hose?  If so, its probably a regulator issue.  I have had same problem for over three years.  If you don't open the gas very slowly it trips a safety which lowers the pressure to nada.  He'll need to shut it down and reconnect following the instructions available on the Weber website.  Mine still only resets 50 percent of my attempts.  Great grill when it works, but what a pain.

SOURCE: New Tank won't light Weber Grill

Try checking the regulator, this is the round metal piece connected to the gas line. If this is not level flat the valve inside will not let propane flow through.

SOURCE: can not light gas grill - Weber 8006 Have done all

Assuming that you have fuel and spark, check the following.
Mine did this, it was spiders, web and egg debris in the air inlet tube. It does not take much dirt to kill the ignition process.
If you have the perforated and hinged black plastic air inlet covers open them up and clean out the dirt. Reinstall the covers when done.

Why won't my Weber grill ignite after installing a

Disclaimer- be careful when working with gas. Starters in gas grills are just about novelty anymore. Often, they only light 1/3rd or 1/4th of the burners and they usually stop working within one grilling season. I recommend using a wand lighter. Try to light just one burner but if doesn't light in 5 to 7 seconds, turn the gas off and wait to try again. Incidentally, you are turning the gas on at the tank, right? You should hear it when you turn the burner on.

When I try to light my brand new Q300, it won't ignite. I can hear that the tank is on and gas is being sent to the grill. However, it doesn't light. When I shut the grill off and the gas tank...

What you have is delayed ignition. It's being caused by the gas regulator. It is solvable, though.

Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

Once the valve is fully open, light 1 burner and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and does th eflame height look correct? If so, light the remaining burner the identical same way. Now, to both flame heights look correct? If so, you solved the problem. Remember to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly. And always light the burners with the Lid/Hood Open.

If the above did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the Hose/Regulator Assembly. Since your grill is brand new, the Hose/Regulator Assembly will be covered under Warranty. Have your Proof of Purchase handy and call Weber 1-800-446-1071. Also, if you haven't done so already, register your grill before calling http://help.weber.com/register/ even if you don't need a new Hose/Regulator Assembly.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot & solve the problem.

I have a Weber Spirit E-210 and the temp will not rise above 300. I cleaned the burners and still an issue. Does the Regulator need to be replaced?

The regulator may need to be replaced. But, before you do, follow the directions below.

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.
2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY, SLOWLY
(Slow motion, slow).
3. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first & turn it to HIGH.
Did the burner light and does the flame height look correct for being in the highest setting?
If so, light the remaining burners the same way. Now, did all the burners light and do the flame
heights all look correct for being on the highest setting? If so, you may have solved the problem.
4. Close the grill's Hood/Lid and allow it to heat for at least 20 minutes. At that point is the
thermometer registering higher than 300 degrees or quickly heading in that direction?
If so, you did solve the problem! Remember to always open the tank valve very, very slowly.

if that didn't solve the problem, you'll need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. You can get one at any home center or hardware store that sells grills and accessories for about $30.00.
Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope the helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please let me know & Happy Grilling!!

I have 3 burners...two will light and one won't light anymore.....??? Bill

Bill, I suspect that the third burner needs to be removed and thoroughly cleaned. As does the venturi valve on the open end of the burner. If however, the 3rd burner is the one that ignites from the cross over tube burner, you will have to clean and/or replace the cross over tube burner.

To assist you further, I have included a link to the Owner's Manual for your model grill, Just in case you have misplaced yours. You can download and print it for future reference.

Gas grill wont lite manuallly

Do you mean it won't match light or the ignitor won't spark and light the burners? Or both?

If it won't match light or the ignitor sparks, but the burners don't light, that means you're not getting gas to the burners.

Check to the tank valve and make sure it's turned ON. Also, make sure that there's gas in the tank.
If both of those check out as OK, turn the gas tank valve OFF. Disconnect the hose from the tank and wait 5 minutes. Reconnect the hose to the tank and turn the tank valve ON VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow). Once the valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and turn it to HIGH. Did the burner light and the flame height looks correct? If so, light the remaining burners following the same procedure. Now, are they all lit and the flames heights look correct? If so, you solve the problem. Just remember to always open the tank valve very, very slowly.

if the burners failed to light. Remove and clean all the burners, as well as the venturi valve on the open of each burner. Spiders like to build nest in the venturi valves.

if cleaning the burners did not solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's hose/regulator assembly. You can find it in any home center or hardware store that sells gas grills and accessories, for about $30.00. Take you old one with you for comparison purposes.

Hope this helped you troubleshoot and solve the problem. Please be kind enough to let me know. Thanks and Happy grilling!!

I have cleaned all of the inside of grill because the burners will not light. I went over vent holes with wire brush but still won't light. What is the problem? What else should I do?

Have you tried to manually light the burners with a lighter? If so and you can not light the burners then you have 1 of 3 things that usually happen. First and forth most you have a blockage in the lines. You should be able to hear gas going throught the line and out of the vent. If you couldnt light the burners manually then this is probally the issue. Check your lines and connections at the bottom of the burners. The second thing could be that is your tank is just to low or empty. I have left the burners on and ran through my gas with out knowing it so check the tank. The last thing it might be is the regulator is broken. After checking the lines for blockage you have to check the gas regulator on your hose and the tank. If it is this problem let me know after you get through the rewst of the checks.

Thanks
Mike

My bbq won't light up....it is a direct line....I have cleaned everything as well as I can.....is there anything safely I can do to see if the gas is getting threw....my weber is older but has never...

There is often a safety control that restricts gas flow IF the burner valve(s) are open when the tank is turned on.
The correct proceedure is to close all burner valves before opening tank valve.

Weber Spirit one month old...went out, changed tank, won't light

The regulator that comes with Weber grills shuts the gas flow off if it detects the slightest leak. Disconnect the tank an reconnect. Check connections with soapy water for any leaks. Another problem, though uncommon for a new grill is a defective regulator. You have a 1 year warrenty on your grill so contact Weber if you continue to have problems.
