Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hoping that I can get some help for my laptop.I have an HP Pavilion dv7-6b63US, with an Intel i7, 6 GB Ram 750 GB Hard drive, windows 7 x64 SP1.The issue; The past 3 days I have had limited connectivity upon booting of the laptop. Tried DNS flush, putting a static IP Address, everything, and eventually had to uninstall in the device manager. From there, I refreshed it, and it would install it, and it would work. However, upon restart, I would have to do the entire process again. It's getting annoying and have no idea what it could be. The Wireless card is an Intel Wireless N-1000 ( wifi works fine with other devices) Tried: DNS Flush & other ipconfig Re-install / update wireless card driver Disabling other network adapters Clearing Wireless Networks

Have you thought that maybe it isn't your wireless network card, but the wireless router that you are connecting too? What I would do (if you have the credentials to do so) is log into your wireless router from a laptop or desktop. Check the configuration of the router, you could have it set to to a different security setting than your laptop is set too. Or you could simply need to update the firmware of the router

SOURCE: I cannot enable my wireless adapter

My suggestion would be to uninstall SP1 if the wireless driver update does not work and wait until a later time to reinstall SP1 since it is apparent the problem occurred with the SP1 update. I'm surprised the HP Recovery didn't resolve it - unless it wasn't taken back to to Factory Default - which would be extreme as you would loose all data, software and updates.

SOURCE: wireless internet on laptop

You need an external WIRELESS ROUTER or MODEM ( provided by AT&T ). After this AT&T router configuration you needs to do configuration at your laptop using CONNECTION SETUP wizard for Wireless Networks & Devices.
Then you can set IP addresses & then you will be connected to it. I hope above steps will help you.
